The experience diametrically opposite to one I had 15 years ago visiting 🇭🇺, Budapest for the 1st time. Back then, in 2006, at 2200h almost Everything was closed. At the very entrance to the city /along that road where you have to drive at first 70 and then 50km/h 🤦🏼♀️ but you do that - traffic-control cameras are everywhere/ we saw a motel seemingly not too firmly locked so we tried hard and somehow managed to persuade person inside /using sign-language, obviously... Not even a trace of even understanding English was detected/ to rent us a room for the night. Whichever room she wants /I can't say 'the one she had available' because I got the impression we were her only guests at that moment/. The room we got had three separated & scattered single beds /low, wooden ones, totally primary school-style/ and, I'm quite sure, nothing else. But enough about that horrid episode of my life. ⚜️ Through the small entrance/driveway gate - both connected through intercom with the reception - you walk into Kikelet Panzió's very well kept garden... or the driveway takes you to the little parking inside the yard. ⚜️ You are welcomed by the pleasant receptionist who speaks English. The Panzió-rules /checkout/breakfast-time, no-smoking policy in the facility/ as well as Wi-Fi username/password are written in 🇭🇺/🇬🇧, printed and clearly pointed out in the lobby, halls, rooms... ⚜️ Kikelet Panzió consists of an old, renovated villa /has beautiful salon with a concert piano/dinning room/glazed terrace - all on the ground floor & has all the floors covered with carefully maintained parquetry; four rooms are on the 1st floor - the central one has a pretty vast balcony/ and the modern little building in the back, containing - let's say - six more rooms. ⚜️ You can make yourself a cup of ☕/tea offered in the lobby and enjoy it while having a 🚬 on a bench next to the main entrance, in the gorgeous wooden gazebo or on the big garden swing near the small pond. In the Kikelet Panzió's garden you will also find a barbecue area and a 🏓 table. Hygiene is on the high level, bathrooms have spacious shower cabins, hot water available non-stop, cable TV on a smart 📺 /all channels except BBC and CNN are synchonized on 🇭🇺 so I suggest you to bring whatever you want to watch on memory sticks/. ⚜️ I do have to emphasize Coziness of the beds! Since I have a lot of issues with soreness in my neck/back I really³ appreciate a good, comfortable mattress/pillow. I had a good rest... ⚜️ I don't do breakfasts but the food smelled and looked so good that I was happy to deprive myself of some of my beauty sleep to have a nice, home-cooked meal. ⚜️ Guests are free to come and go whenever they like since they get the keys for all the entrances as well as the code for the driveway gate. ⚜️ Kikelet Panzió is Pet Friendly for a symbolic additional fee /2.000 HUF - about 6€/. I own an English Setter, which is considered a medium-sized dog breed. ⚜️ I am very pleased with this accommodation! Will return to Dunakeszi so... hamarosan találkozunk...
Read moreWe were looking to stay in a comfortable accommodation in Dunakeszi and this was the only one we found, so we booked it. We stayed for one night. The room was quite strange, it was not in the main building and you had a feeling as if you were in a cellar, because the windows were very small and quite high up. It wasn't very clean either, I found a spider next to my bed. As we were on the ground floor, we could hear the main entrance door banging, when the guests were going upstairs. The bathroom was nice enough, recently refurbished. Staff not particularly friendly. It was ok for one night, but we wouldn't stay there again. Also we had to pay at check in, which is very unusual. I also heard from locals that you can rent a room for an hour, which is not very...
Read moreI stayed at this guest house for ten days while I was traveling with three U16 tennis players for a tennis tournament. We enjoyed our stay tremendously because of all the wonderful ladies' staff working at this guest house. They cooked us wonderful made to order breakfast. They made our stay feel like as we were staying at some friends' house always very friendly and welcoming. Our two rooms were simple but nicely furnished with all amenities. Free WiFi was available. We had a bar-fridge in each room. They also have a very nice garden with a number of mature trees with a small "Asian" type pond and a few garden chairs and tables on the premises. Thank you again for making our stay...
