Hotel Garzon Plaza — Hotel in Győri járás

I’ve spent 2 nights at The Garzon Plaza Hotel for a wedding. The hotel was clean and tidy: both my room and the communal areas include. ||The room has had a new AC, which is absolutely necessary during the 35-40 deg summer months in Hungary.||All staff members were very polite and friendly. And they have had a very professional approach to all of my inquiries without hesitation.||Krisztian at the reception was friendly, skilled, quick and efficient at the check-in.||Their bistro called Husevo means “Meat-eater” in English. Being a vegan it was quite shocking at the first time, however their highly experienced and skilled staff has managed to overcome on this obstacle with an extremely polite manner. ||The waiter, Janos had international working experience therefore he made my inquiry absolutely natural. The chef has made me one of the best grilled vegan experiences I’ve ever had (try the mashed potato with truffles). These gentlemen and Monika at the bar deserve a great incentive, as they are truly great assets of the hotel.||I’ve also asked for shirt-pressing in the early morning (5-6am), and it has been done quickly.||I used to work for hotels in London, but this hotel brings all the values that can elevate their hospitality onto an international level.||The location is far from the centre, however they have plenty of parking space, and it gives you the opportunity to gain access easily to the countryside, if you want to go for a trip.||Furthermore they also have a jacuzzi and a swimming pool that I regrettably haven’t tried due to my heavily scheduled errands, however I have no doubt that it could be lovely and relaxing for some.||I only have had lovely experiences over there, which raises the bar, as the country itself has some hospitality issues.||Thank you Everyone, it was a pleasant and great experience. PRO:

1. cleaning, the Place was smelling of detergents since we stepped in the receptions, you notice people cleaning around everywhere in the morning, the room was spotless.
2. room noise, we couldn't hear any sound, maybe also affected by the non presence of anyone next to us.
3. swimming pool and jacuzzi, very nice feature, small, but nice.
4. quality of breakfast, (not size), the food quality and preparation was above average. CONS:
5. room setup, you get in the room and it looks like an office, it is strange to step in and you can't see the bed cause there is a small cupboard which holds the tv at the feet of the bed, the tv could be hung at the side wall.
6. breakfast choices and location, the food is very good but there is a lack of choices, for example a simple croissant and more international breakfast choices would be great moreover, the breakfast is served in the langos place that belongs to the restaurant while they have a big and private event room next to it unutilized.
7. structure setup and elevator, the elevator goes up to the second floor so if your room is at the third you have to climb the stairs, the third floor has a kind of kitchen with a functioning stove on a side of the floor (strange) and yet, there are no pots, pans or silverwares if someone would like to use it

Overall a good stay, but if I would have to define the place in stars I would say it's a 4 stars hotel, more...

We were the guests of this hotel twice by now. I didn't felt that the rooms were breathtaking (as they advertising it on their website), they were very standard to me, max. 3 star hotel rooms. at our last trip, we stayed 2 nights, and on the first night during the evening my nose started to bleed. One drop of blood (like the tip of the index finger) went on the smaller pillow (there is a big pillow and a small pillow). In the morning, I placed the small pillow in a way, that the housekeeper could very easily see it, so she could change the pillow cover. After getting back to the hotel, in the late afternoon, I noticed that the housekeeper only turned the pillow over, but she didn't change the cover. I think she tought I won't notice. on our first morning there, we wanted to leave the parking lot, but our car was blocked by another car (parked illegally). When my husband asked the recepcionist, she told us this was the car of the "manager" or someone in the management. A few minutes later, a lady came, passed us, get in her car, moved it, passed us again. Clearly, she was so important, and just at that time, she had such an important phone call, that she couldn't said Hello to us, or Good morning, or Sorry for blocking us. Nothing.
