We haven't tried any other accommodations in Keszthely, so we have no comparison but the Muschel Inn is a very nice place. My little daughter always says we should go back there. ||||The place is really nice and clean, the sheets and towels are changed regularly, the building is not noisy and the only thing that could disturb your rest is the occasional train passing by as it is quite near to the railroad. ||The thing that really makes this inn special is it's owner, Istvan, who is present at almost every moment of the day, helping you in any way he can. The breakfast is extraordinary and the owner pays special attention to children and uses small tricks to make them eat more. My daughter loved him. It's all really friendly. ||There is also a small swimming pool for when you are tired to walk to the beach or you would like to bathe a little more after dinnertime and children can play in the large green yard in front of the house. ||The only downside of this inn is that is is quite a walk from the city center (about 20 minutes) or from the city beach (15 minutes) - Városi Strand - but there is a nice, smaller beach also much nearer - Libás Strand. Also if you arrive by train or by bus you can ask the owner to come and pick you up. He volunteered for us as well when he found out that we were traveling by train. ||Oh, there are also bikes that you can rent. No children seats are available.||||Our general impression was very good and we feel like we would like to go back every year just to check out how things are going in Keszthely and the...
Read moreOn the beginning some pros: very clean (rooms, pool, bed clothes changing every two days etc.), quiet, very good service during breakfast.||BUT for us (two young families with two little children) it was the not so nice place to stay. Owner, Mr. Isztwan, didn't allow us to stay outside the pension (or even on balcony) after 22:30, we couldn't play cards, swim or even talk etc. During two days we decide to stay all day at the pool, so he was so angry the in the middle of the day he put chlorine to the water and said that we can't swim for 2 hours.||When his friends came to visit him it was not a problem when they were swimming after 00:00.||||My advice: if You are looking for place to spend time with friends, if You are looking for place with swimming pool that You can use whenever You want, go somewhere else!!||||If You are looking for quiet place just to sleep, eat breakfast, take photo in nice swimming pool - it would be best...
Read moreThe Muschel Inn is a breath of fresh air, from all other hotels we've visited. Very clean, bright and elegant, the building is also located far from the noisy streets. We read about the train passing by, but never heard it during our stay.||||Breakfast awaits in a very elegant and classy room, where you are greeted by the owner and his kind waitstaff. He makes sure to assist and guide the guests during their stay, and gives great advice for making the most of the day.||||The room we stayed in, No. 4, is very large and comfortable, with a balcony view of the hotel's pool and backyard. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed a great and uninterrupted night sleep. ||||We will definitely return to the Muschel Inn for another...
