Platán Apartmanház Miskolctapolca — Hotel in Miskolci járás

Great position near a lot of attractions (Bath Caves, public pool, park, lake). There's a summary below if you are in a hurry!

The Cons: The lack of a second language. (This is not a deal-breaker if you bring a friend that knows the language)

Lack of heating or improper usage of it (During the stay at night we had 9-11°C) (This is a big deal if your trip is in September or a colder month)

The check-out time is quite early*. *While in general a check-out at 10 in the morning is welcome we had to check-out on a Sunday. (The deal here is that most stuff opens at 12)

Having only one key per apartment ( While this may not be of importance if you go solo or as a couple it's really important while going with friends )

The booking process is quite misleading and we found out that we had less beds than expected and having to buy 2 more beds because of it (This is indeed a big inconvenience but I'm not sure if it's on Szallas.hu or the hosts) (The hosts were kind enough and gave 1 bed for free after we bought 2 which did bring up the rating) Update : Checked the email and Szallas.hu booking style is at fault.

Update : Forgot to mention the lack of body towels. (can be an issue for some)

The Pros: The positioning keeps everything you need closed in a 30 min walk distance. If you are somebody that likes to visit a lot there's a bus station 15-20 min away.

The owner does not live at the address of the property. (Big plus if you visit with friends)

Unfortunately I have to send negative opinion about this place. First of all: price of breakfast given in the e-mail offer was lower then price taxed after all. The owner when asked wasn't able to answer why, even when I send him his own e-mail sent to me few days before. Second: we were a big group of 19 people that took whole house. The owner didn't show any flexibility when 2 people must have canceled on the arrival day, even tough as I said: we took whole place - filling all beds there. His explanation was: "next time don't book on last minute". Ok, if you don't want to have last minute group which fill whole empty house, then your "hotel" would stay empty. Shame. Big shame.
