One of the first issues I encountered was the lack of free parking space. Finding a spot for my vehicle was a frustrating ordeal, and it added unnecessary stress to the beginning of my visit. To make matters worse, once I finally parked, there was a complete absence of clear signage that would guide visitors to the actual entrance of the cave baths. It felt like a maze trying to figure out where to go, and I wasted precious time just searching for the right direction.
Upon reaching the entrance, I was met with enormous lines that seemed never-ending. Standing in the scorching sun for 25 to 30 minutes just to get to the ticket office was extremely uncomfortable, and it drained much of the excitement I had for the experience. The lack of shade or any shelter made it even more unbearable, and it was disheartening to see the management not adequately preparing for such a situation.
By the time I finally got to the ticket office, I was so frustrated and fatigued that I considered abandoning the visit altogether. Waiting in lines under the blazing sun took away all the enthusiasm I had for exploring the cave baths. The organization and management of the ticketing process left much to be desired, and it certainly impacted the overall enjoyment of the visit.
Adding to the discomfort, there were no public bathrooms nearby. This oversight is unfathomable for a popular attraction like Tapolcai Barlangfürdő. It put visitors in an unfortunate situation where they had to hold it in or leave the line, only to rejoin it later. It's not only inconvenient but also unhygienic and simply unacceptable for a place that attracts a large number...
Read moreI was a bit skeptical reading the latest bad reviews and after going there 2 times I don't understand why.... Water is clean (of course it is full of chloramine but it is understandable giving the fact that thousands of people go in every day). Toilets were okish. I've seen people complaining about food prices. Prices are even lower than outside or at least the same. And most important you can bring your own food and drinks. I've seen lots of people with thermal bags full of beer, juices, food i.e.). This is such a rare things these days.... In my country all such places rip you off and you are not allowed to bring even water inside. The concept is nice and it is quite unique. I agree it could be a little more renovated ...it looks a bit old and worn out. Also the sun bads are not enough but also the place is not very large. Anyways we...
Read moreI traveled more then 700km to visit this spa. I must say it was disapointment to visit it in November. The water in the cave pool was cold. It stated it is 29C but it felt more like 24-25C. The outdoor pools were closed. When you have termal water the point is to have warm water and also outdoor pool with warm water. I first was not sure if that was the right spa from the outside as it looked abandoned. You have to pay extra to enter Sauna World. Jacuzzi has bubles at certain periods. Star chaimber did not have stars or at least the lights did not work properly... The stuff knew a bit of English. Masseur spoke no english at all, which was weird for the international reputation of this spa. All in all I would not go back unless they improve standards...
