Ensana Thermal Sárvár — Hotel in Sárvári járás

I'd say that overall our stay at this hotel was a nice experience, however those little touches one would expect from a 4* hotel were missing. We have booked a superior room, which was indeed nicely furnished, though the bathroom is very small. But - in spite of the description given on their web-site - it doesn't offer any toiletries. Or rather one wall mounted shower gel container is provided + shower caps. Nothing else. Being a spa and wellness hotel one would expect soap, body lotion and also mineral water in the bedrooms - especially in a superior room. There was none of these. What is more, the hotel charges HUF 200 for tap water at the restaurant, something we've never ever seen anywhere. The spa is nice and clean, though not overly big, so can get very busy. The hotel is connected to the Arboretum, so access to it is easy and free of charge. We had an issue with our seating for the New Year's Eve gala dinner, which, after a bit of an argument was solved. Disappointingly not once during the dinner did the restaurant manager come to our table to apologize for the inconvenience caused and ask if everything was alright. I visited this hotel once or twice a year since many years, because I liked the thermal water and loved the possibilities regarding treatments. This year, I was devastated about the bad service and about everything, what was there before, but not available anymore!||||I heard that the frequent visitors (Stammgaeste) are not welcome anymore. The management of the hotel offers very low prices for a short stay. This changed everything in the hotel. During the week, the hotel is almost empty and the weekends, there are many people, they arrive, use the swimming pools and the meals but do not even drink anything during their dinner except eventually tap water. Now the hotel is charging for a glass of tap water 200 forint! The waiters are not happy about this new situation, because they also miss the tips, they normally receive and this is a disadvantage regarding their very low salaries.||I personally, I had booked and paid in advance incl. treatments for a several weeks stay. After two weeks, I had to change the room, because the hotel wanted to refurbish the room. I had to change into another room. This is the best wellness hotel I've been to, it was already our third time coming here. The prices are more than reasonable, the food is amazing and the bathing and sauna part of the hotel is well designed and comfortable. All parts of the hotel are clean and well maintained, the staff is polite and helpful. The targeted demographic of this hotel is the elderly, meaning it's rather quiet, there are no kids and being here is incredibly relaxing.
