Park Hotel Pelikan — Hotel in Szombathelyi járás

I decided to go to Vienna with my mother for her birthday but before we visited our relatives at the north bank of lake Balaton. After all we decide to drive till dawn and it reached us 10 kms away from the nice and calm city of Szombathely at the northwest border of Hungary. Due to the fact that it was a long holiday weekend i was not sure if i can find a hotel but i managed to book a room online at this hotel.it is confy old biulding in downtown Szombathey with a decent wellness facility, air condition minibar and good wifi access and a restobar. I wanted to have a drink before going to bed but it was not possible because neither Aperol for Aperol spritz and nor tomato juice for a good Blody Mary was not available so i went to bed thursty. 5*for personal except of that very poor! |I talked to them 2 days prior to our visit telling them how we r excited about our getaway first time without our daughter and how we looking forward to the wellness part and jacuzzi- they FORGOT to mention its not working! Water in the pool was extremly freezing cold and the 30 min massages we were supposed to get we couldnt coz there was nobody to do them. |2 sets of personel in the kitchen - 1 was brilliant but the other one was literally disgusting! Very poor me u and even from that they did not have quiet a few things. Beds are worst than water beds absolutly not possible to sleep on specially with the air cons noise! At the first glance it was tidy but after getting in the shower - and looking around not so much! It is a nice hotel but there is nobody to maintain it what is a real shame! We are very upset and disgusted about a hotel which is most certainly not worth 4 stars...

This hotel brands itself as THE elegant and stylish hotel in the small western Hungarian city of Szombathely. However I'd advise anyone against choosing it for a stay. The air conditioner in the room did not work. There was some bugs in the bathroom. The cleaning ladies shouted during the night, and although we have booked a room with late check out, she insisted we left earlier (obviously we did not thouhg). The wifi did not work in the room. We had the worst breakfast in a four star hotel so far, and also the worst cofee EVER.
