Hotel Magita — Hotel in Tokaji járás

Let me start by saying that this hotel exceeds one's expectations by offering European service in the remote countryside - it is just that it could be so much better. ||||After the rough roads you are happy to find this fairly new-looking hotel. Check-in is smooth; you get with your keys a huge remote controller (??!). All rooms are accessed from open corridoors, and the room's only window is on this corridoor. I really do not like this as you cannot leave your curtains, let alone your windows open unless you want all walkers-by to peer in. The room is actually quite tiny, we could only open our cabin-sized suitcase on the twin and rather soft bed. The bathroom is very basic with a shower. I realise that we are not at the Ritz, but the whole room has a cost-saving theme manifested by the CRT television (I did not know they still make these). It would not cost much to get a much better image. The free WiFi was rubbish while we were there, but this could be due to the bad weather.||||The hotel boasts wellness functions: sauna, jacuzzi, infrasauna and an open pool. Capacities are limited, so you have to make a reservation: mornings are private for parties up to 6 or so, afternoons shared. On our departure day it was booked out, we could not use it, which was a pity. The sauna should be heated up earlier, when we used it it was a little cold (60C). So is the solar-heated pool in cloudy weather.||||Breakfast is tasty and there is some choice. Interestingly they do not serve water - we had to ask separately. ||||Overall the hotel is of reasonably good value, it is really a pity that it completely misses why people travel to this region. We look for peace and relaxation, too, but we visit the Tokaj region mostly to explore wineyards, taste and buy wine. I doubt the management reads these reviews, but someone should...

The place itself is beautiful, beautiful location but the overall service was terrible! The food was bland, small portions, and they didn’t provide any food for lunch, not to mention that they only offered a daily “menu” where there was only one option. There aren’t any nearby restaurants so this proposed a problem. Our room was dirty when we arrived and the bed sheets weren’t changed from the previous guest. I had to clean our room and un dust the place, as it was filthy. About the pool… they only had 10 tanning beds and the hotel can take about 100 people and well you can put the rest together. Last but not least, for this terrible service I feel it was over priced. The staff blamed it on covid, but reading previous reviews, it seems this problem has been going on...

We stayed 2 nights in one of the 2 bedroom apartments. |The apartment was clean, 2 bedrooms with good comfortable beds, 2 nice bathrooms one with a shower the other one with a bath. Also there some outside furniture.|The staff during our stay were very friendly. Receptionists as well as the staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. Unlike some of the previous reviews I read so I assume they have taken some actions here. |We used the outside hot tubs, a great experience with a glass of Tokaij wine.|Breakfast was good, enough choice.
