Sparkling Hospitality and Delicious Discoveries This past weekend, we embarked on a wine tasting tour at a beautiful vineyard and couldn't have been more impressed! The host's warm welcome put us at ease immediately, and the setting – a stunning garden nestled by a 300-year-old renovated guesthouse – was simply idyllic.
The tasting itself was a delightful journey. We started with a refreshing sparkling wine, and the host expertly curated the following selections based on our preferences. We enjoyed a range of dry, semi-dry, and sweet wines, each with its own unique character.
After a long car ride, hunger pangs started to hit during the tasting. Thankfully, the ever-attentive host overheard our grumbles and surprised us with a delectable spread of cold cuts, cheeses, local vegetables, and toasted bread. It was pure bliss!

Read moreWe visited Erdőbénye for a weekend getaway and were very happy with our stay at Préselő. We had rooms near the front of the house (some with street facing windows and some overlooking the garden). The rooms were clean, comfortable, and were nicely done without being overthought and pretentious. (Our room combined traditional wooden beams with contemporary touches.) The small garden is also nice. Our host was very helpful and accessible and, as we found out in the course of a tasting and dinner, also well educated and knowledgeable when it came to winemaking and local wine culture. The food provided (both the breakfast included and the optional dinner with the tasting) were good quality, including some home-made components. I would gladly return if I come back...
