We stayed in the pension for 5 days. Its a two story house with a yard for free parking. The hosts are very nice people. They live on the second floor. The first floor is for guests, has two bedrooms, a spacious entertainment room with tv, some toys, a kitchen, a bathroom and a laundry. The beds are very comfortable.Rooms cozy.Although the breakfast is not included in the price, a basket of bread, butter, jam is always arranged in the fridge for guests to enjoy. If you drive from Keflavik international airport to the pension, you need to go through a undersea tunnel, which cost 1000 Iceland currency. The toll gate is after the tunnel. You can pay cash or credit card. By the way, in Iceland, everything can be paid by credit card, so no need to change currency. We stayed there in February, the low season. There were not other guests at the time. the pension is 40 mins drive to the captical of iceland. In iceland, driving is an amazing experiences , but in winter you need to check the weather forcast daily. The landscapes are unique in Iceland, looks like the surface of moon, very stunning. The female owner provided us with all the useful information, with which we could luckily enjoy the amazing phenomenon-northern lights. You can go to the nearby lighthouse to see the northern lights if weather is good, not cloudy. The pension is close to the sea.During our stay there, the male owner went to us to inform of a coming storm, which was very thoughtful. We were so impressed with everything about the pension that we would not hesitate to stay there again if we have chance to...
Read moreWe stayed 4 nights at the guesthouse -- it was a great experience! Everything you could want! Our hosts were excellent and took great care of us. It's a shared 2 bedroom apartment with a large bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining area. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The hosts have thought of just about everything for their guests -- including stocking up power adapters for their guests. ||||One thing people should be aware of is that this is a shared lodging. During our 4 nights, we shared the apartment with three different couples. If you're looking to be alone and have a place all to yourselves, this may not be the right place for you -- but if you enjoy adventures in traveling -- cannot recommend this place any more! ||||Akranes is a great location, north of Reykjavik. Day drives exploring the country from this area are very easy. Couple of very nice restaurants in town. Your hosts will make excellent recommendations of things to do and see -- we took them up on as many of them as we could in...
Read moreWe stayed for only one night on the way back to Reykjavik after 16 days in Iceland. This guesthouse is incredible value for money and just a delightful place to stay - a real home from home. We wished we could have stayed longer. The owner lives upstairs and is super helpful about the town and the area, and she's very friendly - nothing is too much trouble. There are two sizeable bedrooms, a comfortable living room and a very well equipped kitchen. Breakfast was left in the fridge for us to help ourselves to, which was very generous. The shower room is also well equipped and opens onto a washer/dryer area which we could use - again, everything provided. The cost of this flat is incredibly good value and in a great location in Iceland being so close to many attractions and to Reykjavik. I would recommend...
