Guesthouse Hvítafell — Hotel in Iceland

We stayed here for a night on our ring road trip. This was by far the best place we stayed at considering its high quality and reasonable price (for Icelandic standards :D )

The location is perfect, especially if you wanna head to Godafoss or to the North-West in general the next day.

The host is super welcoming and friendly. Checkin and checkout were easy and quick.

The room is incredible: large bathroom with big shower, a very comfortable twin bed and spacious area with small dining table and a sofa chair and a kitchen with full on equipment (stoves, microwave, coffee machine, plates, cups, cutlery…) Everything was super clean (even cleaner than most hotels).

There is a hot tub right next to the rooms!!!

If you plan to stay in the Lake Myvatn area, this 3-room guesthouse separate from the main house is a great option. My first impression was with its cleanliness. Everything was immaculate and in pristine condition. Easy parking out front. Looks like the owner is building another similar unit on the other side of the house.||Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator and tiny freezer, two-burner hot plate and generous-sized bath with fold-in shower. You could easily be comfortable here for longer stays. WiFi was fast enough to upload dozens of photos in minutes to Shutterfly. Two plugs near each twin bed, decent blackout curtains.||No good restaurant or any grocery in the village so get provisions...

We stayed at Hvítafell several times during the Summer and Fall of 2020, which coincided with the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Iceland and elsewhere.||||We have stayed here in the years past, and like the convenience of the location as well as the familiarity & comfort of the living space.
