FOOD POISONING** 7/2/2023
I am not one to review places but this was absolutely disgusting.
To start, the bathroom was a mess, it took a long time to get our drinks.
I ordered a cheeseburger plain, arrived cold with random mustard sauce? Not sure. The fries were cold and stiff.
My bf ordered fish and chips, he was hesitant to say the least as it tasted and looked off but ate anyways because we were starving after a long day hiking.
Well hours went on, we went sight seeing. Then my bf started feeling unwell, we ended up having to go back to this place as it was the closest. He ran into the bathroom and started puking. This continued on for 37 hours, including black puke with a fish smell ( he had nothing else that day)
I started feeling ill a day later, and started to throw up as well and have diarrhea. Considering we both had different food, it was not expected. I am still suffering but better than I was
This place is not somewhere I would Recommend to anyone ever. STAY AWAY IF YOU DONT WANT FOOD POISONING

Read moreThis place is obviously hit or miss. The waitress said to sit anywhere, then ignored my wife and I for about 20 minutes. When she took our order, we had to wait another 30 or so minutes to get a beer, and only after getting up and asking for it. When the food arrived, about 1 hour 15 minutes after we had arrived, the soup was barely warm. I don't know if the staff really does not like tourists or they are just plain incompetent.
I wanted to not get up and ask for the beer, just to see if they would never bring it, but my wife does not have my sense of humor. I would have waited until they were going to close just to see what happened. They close at 8, we got there around 6.
The restaurant across the street at the boarding school/summer hotel is way better quality and they are very nice. I'd steer clear of Dalakofinn unless you really have no...
Read moreThe first best thing is the food here - meat soup and onion rings. Must visit place in your ring road trip.
Secondary, the nice people that run this place. We were stuck in the worst storm ever that hit iceland in mid December 2019. We were stuck and rescued on a mountain pass near Gooafoss and had to come back to Laugar as the roads on either side of Laugar were closed for next two days. The lady at the restaurant came to our rescue and took the pain of finding an accommodation for us and started calling literally every hotel out there in Laugar - we lucked out to get only available place to stay on that day at fermata north - she don’t have to do that but still went an extra mile to help us, a nice Icelandic human touch. Thanks y’all for saving us and feeding us. Looking forward to visit again - maybe in...
