No guest access to the kitchen - bring groceries. This hotel restaurant is operating with a regular house kitchen with one stove. My room was neat but on close inspection there was a stain and some water damage through the wallpaper. In the morning, there was a lot of loud talking and shouting between the staff which felt inconsiderate. The staff seem bored and we’re sitting around on their phones from lack of business. Staff also had old frilly pink uniforms which I would be embarrassed wearing if I worked there. It doesn’t feel cultural, it looks tacky, I would hate that especially when it’s women wearing it. Seems really sexist to me. I saw the northern lights for the first time in my life here, though. I was comfortable sleeping here for the most part, and I would return to this town to get access to viewing the lights again. This place is perfect if you want to be remote and want to experience the Aurora which is why I stayed there in the first place. Come prepared and bring groceries.

Owners of this place were really friendly. Its located pretty much in Blondous centre. We were able to find free parking spots right infront of the guest house. I feel the whole place needs a renovation. Beds were not that comfortable. We had a room at the ground floor, where the kitchen was close by. When we checked in , our room had the smell from kitchen. The heater in room was not working and the staff arranged another portable heater for us , which we had to manage in the already cramped room. Room has wardrobe, which cannot be fully opened due to lack of space. Bathrooms also could be better. Also please note that the Kitchen is not usable for guests for cooking. All you can use is the tea/coffee, toaster, microwave, fridge, and kettle. Guests are allowed to sit in the restaurant to have food.

Cozy little guesthouse at a great location near the sea, at bit pricy though (Iceland) Run by a young (Polish) couple that will do their best to make you stay as comfortable as possible. Sure, the building is a bit dated, but efforts are clearly being made, as can be seen by the recently installed +++ double glazing. In any case the rooms are clean and comfortable - not that I saw a lot of my room; I slept wonderfully. However if you’re a person with 21st century ‘special needs’, by all means find yourself a hip hotel in the Reykjavik area.

STAY AWAY IT IS A SCAM !!! I would rate it -1 but it is not possible. To summarise the worst experience we had so far in Iceland. Although they had photos of a kitchen in Booking they told us we cannot use the kitchen and that we have to use their “restaurant”. One of our friends has many allergies and food restrictions. We asked them if they can provide a gluten free and vegan meal and they said they can give us a hamburger which of course does not meet any of the criteria’s. We asked them if we can cook the food we bought and they refused saying that the kitchen is only for the restaurant (part of the scam) When we reached to the room we were met with a very intense smell of mold and dust. The room was advertised as allergy free on Booking. Of course we all started coughing. On top our friend has many allergies which were triggered by the dust in the room. We addressed this to the owner and they were very rude telling us to go to a hotel if we want better conditions and that if the blankets are made of synthetic they can call the room allergy free. Please check the number of bad reviews they have received about this on Google. The owner refused to refund us the money although we did not stay and we left within half an hour (time needed to book another accommodation). We filed a complaint to Booking and if they will not return us the money we will sue them for the drama they brought to our lives. After telling we will leave she took the key went to the room and came back saying that we brought the dust with us. I could not believe she even tried to go that way. Also was repeating that we were trying to scam them although they already have our money and we were the ones scammed.

PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND NEVER EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE FOR RESTAURANT OR AS A GUESTHOUSE....

You must be joking?!||I can only think there must be other, better rooms they are keeping from me. ||No way anyone could review this well. ||The entrance to the hotel is to one side and not clearly marked. It is unlit when arriving back at night and up some steep steps. ||The place smells of rancid frying. It’s none too clean in the communal areas and the sheet on my bed is so threadbare you can see the mattress through it. There is one small, thin and lumpy pillow. ||We have just come from a Guesthouse that charged exactly the same price. We had a TV in the room, private bathroom and breakfast included. You will get none of that here. ||What are they thinking? ||I’m trying to think of positives. The room itself was clean. The view of the sea is good from our room if you lift your eyes and ignore the overgrown garden. There are rubbish bags piled up outside by the guests outside seating area. ||The lady who let us in is lovely and eager to please. I don’t know if she is the manager of this unfortunate place, if she is the owner I’d say it needs serious money spending to bring it up to date. ||I think it would be acceptable as a place to lay your head for one night if it were half the price. The standard here is simply not competitive with any other places we stayed during this trip to Iceland in a similar...
