Golden Nest — Hotel in Central Zone

I booked this place (6 days) for my wife's parents visiting from Hyderabad. They always have high regards to people and food in Coimbatore. Unfortunately, they had unpleasant stay at Golden Nest. The place was not clean and room was dark. Complimentary breakfast was included in the tariff but was not provided. They did bring breakfast from other restaurant after 9 am on the third day but only after we asked what happened to the complimentary. I understand that they were renovating the restaurant downstairs, during the stay but they did not put on efforts to ask the elderly couple if they would like to have breakfast. I thought that they should have reduced the room charges as they did not provide the breakfast. Very lethargic response from the staffs and even the morning coffee was provided very late (after 7.30 pm). The facilities inside the room was bad. For example, the fan was too noisy and poorly maintained. Car parking facility was poor and it may be difficult to even wait outside due to the heavy traffic. The staffs both in the reception (except one person) and room staffs were not very responsive and the service provided was slow and lazy. I think one of the owners who sat in the reception had a bad attitude.

Overall, we will not stay/book for our relatives here anymore, unless they fix the above issues. It was a convenient location for us though! It is very very pricey for what they offer. After this stay, they stayed in Namakkal, Madurai and later in Chennai - they had pleasant experiences in all the places they stayed with much lower tariff! We stayed here for 3 days and though my father is still in the hospital we vacated and left the apartment early as it was very dirty . Please remember they give up to 15% discount if you ask and we got the rooms for 3 days at 2340 per day. However after booking the manager said since he gave discount he won’t give free breakfast The room was very dirty and sheets soiled . If you ever stayed in a service apartment before then you won’t like it . This can be compared to a cheap lodge in tier 3/4 cities with smelly rooms and hardly any service . They don’t even have a spoon . Their brochure (on the back of their visiting card )displays stove and has a pic of gas stove but they give a disgusting single induction stove - my son got a panic attack when he found a hair and a cockroach in their utensils which we used innocently. One room boy was fine but the manager (the one with the wig ) is not too helpful after you check in- infact even the Wi-Fi is limited and you need to ask the manager for password which he gives after grudgingly saying he is not supposed to blah blah . It’s not worth 2600-10% per day . Book at the ahs lodge nearby - it’s not good but the rooms are similar and 1000 rupee...

I stayed here for 5 days. The Positives are, spacious 1BHK service apartments. Hot shower. Kitchenette with RO drinking water supply. Close to Ramakrishna hospital and colleges. We can get food supplied to the attached caterer. The bedroom can take in 2 more cots, if needed. The negatives: there is no supply of blanket even in the ac rooms. Cleanliness is below par and there seems to be no full time cleaning staff. Kitchenette has only a water jug, 2 glass tumblers and 2 tea cups. There is no stove, heater, electric kettle or mini-fridge. If you want to cook anything, you must bring a stove or something similar. I wish the manager can supply these items as additional rentals for those who wish...
