Read moreWe were here on a Saturday night on the recommendation of friends who swore by its local patronage. Upon arrival, this was clear enough with about 15-20 people in waiting outside. The waiting area is substantial enough but what registers immediately is the temple opposite the restaurant and the rather clean street in which it is situated.
After about 30 minutes or so, we were given a table. It was late in the night for a place like this. As a result, one recurring theme was the non-availability of a few items on the menu. The waiter maintained a sheepish grin throughout when we cajoled (badgered even) him into getting the items served but remained firm. While this was a bit of a con, it wasn't unreasonable that a restaurant would run out of items late into a busy day.
I had the Puttu Kadlai, Kaara Paniyaaram and Set Dosa all of which tasted delicious especially the Puttu. Service was prompt as you'd expect in a place like this. The interiors were decidedly old-fashioned (slightly run-down too) and mess-like which probably contributes to the appeal of the place. The prices were the real highlight with most items in the Rs. 40-60 range (March'17).
Overall, Krishna Tiffin Room is definitely a local treasure of sorts and recommended for anyone looking for South Indian breakfast and...
Read moreI've been dining at your restaurant for almost one year. Your hotel has been my go to place for a good home like food experience. I also recently dined at your place. While I was pleased with the quality of the food and the overall service provided by most of your staff, I encountered an issue that I feel needs addressing.
During my recent visit to your restaurant, I experienced rudeness from one of your waiters. While reviewing the menu to place my order, the waiter, an older gentleman, impatiently asked me what I wanted. When I informed him that I would place my order in a minute, he subsequently returned and intentionally ignored my attempts to place my order, both dining and take away. After which I took the issue to the uncle sitting in bill counter. He tried to resolve but yet the waiter was too rude to me infront of the cashier itself. I left the place.
As a frequent visitor to your restaurant, I believe many of your staff may recognize me and can attest to the positive interactions we have had. You may wish to consult with your staff regarding our regular exchanges to gain insight into my usual demeanor and the respect I have always shown towards them.
This experience was disappointing and did not meet the standards of service I have come to expect from your...
