Hotel Sparkk Deluxe — Hotel in Delhi

My experience at Hotel Sparkk Deluxe was a calculated and deliberate scam from start to finish. I was a new arrival from Nepal, and the hotel and an auto-rickshaw driver are clearly working together to defraud tourists. ​The Deception: The auto driver flat-out refused to hand me his phone to call my pre-booked hotel. He called himself using loudspeaker only, and a man on the other end lied, claiming my original hotel was "fully packed" and insisted I go to Sparkk Deluxe. This was a lie to trap me. The auto driver even accompanied me to the reception, proving their collusion. ​The Overcharge and Deplorable Room: I was quoted an immediate ₹2000 for an A/C room. After paying, I was given a disgusting room—it was dirty, the A/C did not work, and there was absolutely no service provided. The room was not worth even a fraction of the price. ​Extortion and Holding ID: The hotel demanded and took my citizenship card at check-in. At checkout, they demanded an additional and entirely unexpected ₹560 in fraudulent "GST charges," forcing the total price to an exorbitant ₹2560. They held my ID and refused to return it until I paid the inflated, false amount. ​Conclusion: This hotel operates a predatory racket. They conspire with dishonest drivers, provide a miserable, unhygienic room, and then essentially extort extra money by holding IDs until you pay their hidden fees. Do not give them your money or your documents....

This is the worst hotel you will ever see. First of all, they don’t even change the bedsheets, and there are no covers for the blankets. You can find stains all over the pillows, and the toilet is disgusting. The entire room smells terrible. On top of that, they charge double the price of other hotels where the rooms are far better. This is a Nepalese hotel where even Nepalese guests are being scammed.

I strongly suggest both Nepalese and other guests look for a different hotel and avoid this one, which is run by ignorant, illiterate, and arrogant people. They won’t show you the room beforehand and will trick you by quoting an expensive rate, making you think the room must be good because of the high price.
