Me and my friend did the trekking from gaurikund and it was easy till jungle chatti. After that it's quite difficult so that made us super tired. We reached there by 2 pm. Since it's situated on the old path of the kedarnath so u have to travel all the way near to kedarnath temple and the cross the river by the bridge and then go back a bit and there u go. So if u r doing trekking then it will look way too far to reach trust me.
But on the other hand if u compare the distance of the temple from other accommodation then this is the best. In GNVM property it's the cheapest that's why we booked it's just 1 km away from the temple which doesn't have much incline or decline on the way. We chose 10 bed dom. In which they provide u 2 charging point. common bathroom / toilet is there which is clear but around 7 - 9 am I can't say anything.
Food is damn good when we had on 6 June 2024. Hot water is provided too. Dinner is available from 8 to 10 pm only.. One mattress and sleeping bag is given. We booked at 860 per person in which food is included too. On that price point this is the best.
The toilet and bathroom is a bit separate 100 rs. Per bucket hot water is available. In the early morning. Bec water comes from the glacier directly and temperature is around. 2 -4 back when we where there. And cleaning things with ice water do make u remember everything ancestor
For single boys it's cheap and best. Even girls and a family...
Read moreI regret to say that my experience was far from satisfactory. I feel compelled to share my concerns in the hope that improvements can be made.
Hygiene and Cleanliness: The overall hygiene and cleanliness of the premises were deeply concerning. It was evident that cleanliness standards were not met, which left me quite uncomfortable during my stay.
Service Quality: The service provided during my visit was subpar. I expected a higher level of service, given the reputation of your establishment. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.
Food Service: The common dining setup was unexpected, and while the food quality was acceptable, the lack of cleanliness in the dining area raised significant concerns.
Room Amenities: The absence of private washrooms in the rooms was a major inconvenience though its a tent camp. Additionally, the sleeping bags without zips provided in the room were not ideal for a comfortable stay.
I believe that addressing these issues will significantly enhance the guest experience at your hotel. I hope this feedback helps in making necessary improvements for the benefit of...
Read moreI booked Himlok Tent Colony of GMVN online for ₹560, which also included food 🍛. The day I arrived, the Kedarnath trek was officially closed for 3 days due to heavy rain alerts 🌧️, and I was the only guest among nearly 50 tents (each tent has 10 beds).
They even called me 4 hours before my arrival to confirm my booking 📞. Once I reached, the staff treated me like a family member ❤️ — serving tasty meals with extra pakoras, providing hot drinking water, and even arranging hot water for bathing (₹100).
The tents were warm and comfortable 🛏️, with charging ports and lights 🔌💡. Toilets were common (around 10–15) but clean. The location is excellent — only about 500 meters from Kedarnath temple 🙏, making it very convenient for darshan.
I highly recommend this GMVN stay for anyone visiting Kedarnath. Great value, great service, and genuine warmth from...
