Varanda Do Mar — Hotel in Goa Island

Varanda do mar is a cosy beautiful hotel right in the middle of Miramar area of Panjim city.It is artistically designed and is a clean, hygienic property situated right across the Caranzalem beach and almost 200 mtrs from Miramar beach ( which btw is a big tourist attraction because of its children's park and nice soft sand)... The pros: *The location ( close to many other tourist attractions like Dona Paula,River mandovi cruise,Casinos,Goa planetarium etc) *Limited variety of food but all items freshly prepared and authentically cooked...taste is awesome..the hotel staff is very cooperative Their sea facing rooms with balcony are huge and extremely beautiful and very reasonably priced compared to their counterparts in other hotels *Would like to make a special mention of Mr.Rakesh and Mr.Vijay ..they are amazing people and made us feel at home in Goa( Mr.Vijay showered so much affection upon my son.. thanks to him) *Room service is also quite prompt

Cons: Public transport not easily available in this area The room lighting is an issue .. light is too dim They don't have a pool or gym as it is a small property...but you can use the sane in their other property situated right next..Hotel Crescent I was not very impressed with their housekeeping staff though,found them Little laid back in cleaning..they do not do dusting in the room at all... Very limited staff during breakfast hours...makes it a hotchpotch affair The bed was not comfortable...was too bouncy *The rooms facing the sea get lot of sand by virtue of the blowing wind ..so even after cleaning the room, there is sand everywhere..

Overall very good property with amazing location..go for the sea facing rooms and u won't regret.... Will be staying here surely next...

If I could give them zero stars I would. Anyone wanting a hotel at Miramar stay away from this place. They will try to cheat you at every turn. I had a booking here on done by a friend for her wedding. I along with three other guests were to arrive very early in the morning. This was informed to this hotel in advance both by email and by my friend in person. At both these times no objections were raised. When I and the other guests arrivied at 4:30 in the morning, we were informed that there were no rooms for us that we would have to wait until 2 pm that afternoon for a room. The receptionist first admitted that the hotel had been informed of an early arrival then after speaking with the manager changed his story mutliple times and tired to make us share a room with two other people, even when the rooms were free. I don't know what they are playing at but regardless of what misunderstanding took place that was no way to treat guests who had a legitimate booking. Also there was some stuff missing from the mini bar in the room and even after informing them as soon as it was noticed they still tried to charge me for it. And the AC was weird. The stay in this hotel remains as a very great memory to us. Room was too spacious with all the required amenities like kettle, wardrobe, TV, locker and more over a beautiful balcony with a pair of chairs and table to have your tea/coffee enjoying the nature. We did like the location very much. It is so peaceful with the sounds of waves touching our ears, decent colony next to the hotel and a huge line of thick vegetation on the sea shore. Miramar beach is at a walking distance of 0.5 km, but we did not like the beach in the night time. Surroundings are dark and shady. There are street food options near the beach. About the hotel, staff is too friendly, everyone at the front office helps a lot. Restaurant is well maintained with tasty food. Despite the good time that we had staying there, the discomforts that we experienced were- condensation problem in the rooms keeping the floor ever wet, serving a pot of tea/coffee when asked for 1 cup (a single person cannot afford to drink 1 flask full at a time), non availability of South Indian menu in the night, and supply of bottled water only on a request. However they have RO water in the rooms. Travel desk works efficiently, arranging for...
