Advika Guest House — Hotel in Goa

If there was an option to give no stars, I'd have done that. This does not even deserve one star. Arrived at the location to see a room and had a terrible experience with a drunk, arrogant and ill-mannered caretaker named Deshpande, who stays right near the rooms. I had done an online booking for 4 people on Booking.com, but soon got a call from the owner named Mrunali saying the price listed on the website was wrong. She gave me the caretaker’s contact and I told him that I’d come to see the rooms, and then book accordingly.

Upon arriving at the location with my family of 4 in the afternoon that included two elderly ladies, we were greeted by the caretaker, who was absolutely drunk. There was a strong odour of alcohol coming out of his mouth and his eyes were red and puffy.

Regardless, we ignored that as we had come to see the rooms. My family liked a room and tried to negotiate as we needed the room only for the night, but the caretaker suggested we could leave the room if we felt the prices were high. That put us off and we tried to leave, but since we all were tired and didn't have any place to go, we told him to go ahead with the booking. But shamelessly, he responded saying that no rooms are available and he couldn't give us any room when all of the rooms were locked. I tried to request again, but his ego was bigger.

Being from Goa, I have never felt so disrespected, specially in my hometown by someone who is not even a Goan. Such people should be shown...

Right on the highway - hence noisy and highly unpleasant. If you are planning to spend a night and hit the highway early next morning, this place might work out for you (but even then I would say it's highly overpriced for what it offers - you would get much better deals slightly off the main road). Besides the room for sleeping there is nothing else to do - not even a place to sit outside. The building is literally one room thin! While the rooms are well kept, the bed sheets are old and stained. Parking is on the main road in front of the bank entrance which is littered with cigarette butts and garbage (yes, the ground floor has a atm + a small Bank branch operating from here). The window/door has no mosquito net. The room itself is small and gives an uneasy feeling. I will not recommend this place unless you are really desperate and have nothing else to...

Great place to stay in Mapusa. we were for 3 days here and it was very safe. it is on the road so we can easily travel to North GOa from here. have a atm downstaris . the hotel is very clean.Rooms,bathrooms were very clean. owners are quite caring so get a family touch. though it is not a luxury hotel,and no breakfast was available. we could get tea on demand which was good.
