PSA: This place needs to exist inorder for others to shine, without there being bad restaurants we would never appreciate good ones.

Let me know if anything I said was false, if it was your restaurant wouldn't be mostly empty, your 5* reviews are all from family and friends, you pay "INFLUENCERS" you never have repeat customers, your food is tasteless and overpriced, request to anyone reading please do not visit this place, instead go to Majestic bhojan / copperleaf, atleast you are getting your moneys worth there.
Restaurant Review: A Culinary Comedy of Errors Restaurant Name: Amchem Spice Family Restaurant Date of Visit: July 2025 Purpose of Visit: Trying out the place (a brave, albeit misguided, solo expedition)
Overall Experience: A Disappointment Served on a Silver Platter (of Regret) My recent solo lunch at Amchem Spice Family Restaurant was, to put it mildly, a culinary tightrope walk that ended in a belly flop. Considering its price point, it was less a meal and more a masterclass in how not to impress.
Price Point: Ritz Classic Prices, Roadside Dhaba Soul The bill at this establishment sang a tune typically reserved for Goa's culinary royalty, like Ritz Classic and Copperleaf. My wallet braced itself for a symphony of flavors, but what it got was a kazoo solo. It felt like paying for a five-star cruise and ending up on a leaky rowboat in a puddle.
Food Quality & Taste: Where Spices Go to Die, and Solkadi Becomes a Sweet Betrayal The food was the star of this tragicomic show, and not in a good way. Every dish seemed to be on a strict "no-spice" diet, making my taste buds feel like they'd been invited to a silent disco. While other places in Goa are serving up ₹200 thalis that sing with flavor, Amchem's offerings were more like a whispered apology. The experience was so bland and watery, it felt less like a meal and more like a liquid diet prescribed by a very unenthusiastic doctor.
And then, there was the solkadi – a true villain in this culinary drama. It wasn't just sweet; it was a saccharine ambush, a sugary invasion of my mouth that left me reeling. Traditional solkadi is the homemade, tangy embrace of kokum, a refreshing slap in the face on a hot day. This imposter was a sweetened kokum concentrate, diluted with water, served in a tiny bowl – a pale, sugary ghost of what it should be. It was like expecting a roaring lion and getting a kitten in a party hat.
Service & Ambiance: The Set Design for a Budget Horror Film Service: The service was... present. Like a background extra in a movie, they were there, but didn't exactly steal the scene.
Ambiance: The ambiance was a masterpiece of "almost." Plastic sheets stood guard against the rain, like reluctant bouncers at a sad party. Potted plants, hung with military precision every four feet, seemed to be questioning their life choices. The "Mangalorean tiled roof" was a sheet-metal imposter, a visual lie. With no proper walls and a kitchen built from drywall, the whole place screamed "cheap knock-off" louder than a bargain bin karaoke machine. It was less a restaurant and more a hastily assembled stage for a play that should have closed on opening night.
Recommendation: A Detour Best Avoided Based on my solo adventure, I'd strongly advise against visiting Amchem Spice Family Restaurant if your palate craves authentic, flavorful, and well-spiced Indian or Goan food. There are countless culinary treasures in Goa that offer a superior taste experience without demanding a king's ransom. Save your taste buds (and your wallet) the heartache.
Would I visit again? Only if I'm researching a documentary on "The...

Read moreIf you're a fan of authentic seafood, rich non-veg dishes, and soulful Goan cuisine, you have to visit this place! I recently had the pleasure of dining at my friend’s restaurant, and I can confidently say—it’s one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in a long time.
The flavors are spot-on—fresh, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. The seafood is incredibly fresh (you can taste the difference), and the Goan dishes have that perfect homemade feel with a spicy, tangy twist that brings back memories of the coast. From fish thali to prawns curry, every bite was a treat.
The ambience is cozy and welcoming, and the service is warm—just like you'd expect when you're being hosted by a friend who loves food. You can tell the passion that goes into every dish.
Highly recommend this spot whether you’re craving a hearty non-veg meal, fresh seafood, or something uniquely Goan. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu. Proud of what my friend has...
