When in Goa the Lazylagoon Sarovar Portico Suites is a great option. It is a nice quaint hotel in Baga. 43 km from Dabolim Airport. The hotel boast of 44 rooms, a very lovely swimming pool and two restaurants. The hotel experience starts right at the airport. As soon as we landed and were in the airport coach to the terminal, we received a call from the hotel chauffer, telling us that he was waiting for us at the terminal. So as soon as we got our baggage we were well on our way to the hotel. Being a Sunday morning, we encountered little or no traffic on our hour long drive to the hotel. A light drizzle welcomed us at the hotel. Check-in was seamless even though we arrived early. Soon enough we were in our rooms… and wow…. were they spacious. The room opened into a little sitting room that led to the bedroom. Nice and spacious. I was particularly impressed by the bathrooms. They seem to be recently renovate and were nice and contemporary. Unfortunately, I do not have a photograph that I can share. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool that is very inviting and with a depth of 5’ in the deep is relatively safe for both swimmers and non-swimmers alike. They say, a way to a man’s heart is through the stomach and so to “woo man”, good food is a must. Although in Goa there are many more options. I am personally not a great fan of buffets and I tend to choose just a dish or two from the buffet. But our group, almost 28 of us, probably tested the elasticity of the hotel with extended timings and personal requests. The kitchen and service crew obliged smilingly. I personally enjoyed my masala fried eggs with croissants and anjal (seer) fish curry with rice during my meals at the hotel. Goan Fish Curry is a warm and tangy fish curry that is cooled with coconut milk I think we also pushed to the extreme Lennoz, the mixologist at the OLA, He was at his best making dozens of Margaritas,, Mojitos, Whisky sours etc. #Lennox4Life Two sides of a coin • A breakfast is never complete without a good cup of either tea or coffee. If you request for a beverage beyond the standard masala chai on the buffet, it takes forever to reach the table. The hotel needs to improve this part of their breakfast service. Help the hotel beat the issue by ordering early. • Croissants are my favourite breakfast roll and I do not appreciate them being cut into half and served on the buffet. The hotel could do better by baking or outsourcing a smaller size so we can enjoy them as a whole.
. I would definitely recommend staying at this property in Baga. It works great both for groups and well as for families.

Read moreWe had a 2 week holiday at The Lazy Lagoon Goa in Feb 2018. Our initial impression was good, the hotel appeared clean & atractive to look at, we booked premium rooms which were small but ok.
When checking in we asked if we could be either located on the ground floor or as near as possible due to my father being 81 years old & unable to climb stairs, we were told our rooms were on the second floor and nothing could be changed until the following morning, the room was in fact up 4 lots of stairs!! The following morning we were told there were no other rooms! Throughout our stay the hotel was noticeably quiet! A large number of rooms were not occupied.
The Hotel is run by very young ignorant incompetent people. If we asked for simple items such as 3 towels in room that slept 3 we were ignored and spent much of our time phoning reception requesting towels to be ignored. My father was given a fold up bed which collapsed when he sat on it resulting in him falling into a wall, the staff who came to check the bed & replace it found this funny.
The Hotel is not near any bars or restaurants so a taxi is needed to go anywhere, the Taxi company based across the road from the hotel refuse to allow any other Taxi companies to pick up guests from the hotel and charge higher prices. When we tried to use another taxi we were threatened by the said company which the Hotel staff refused to support us with.
By day 3 our party came down with severe food poisoning confirmed by a GP, the gentalmen staying in the room next to ours also had severe food poisoning as did a number of other guests. The hotel staff excepted responsibility for the poisoning evan asking us to help them identify the source of the problem, our holiday was ruined by sickness.
At the end of our stay we were given feedback forms which we completed honestly these were given back to us and we were told if we didn’t rewrite them giving positive feedback we wouldn’t be given a complimentary room to shower & change before flying home!!
On our return home we complained to our holiday provider ON THE BEACH!!! They allowed the hotel in question to carry out an investigation on itself! They obviously denied all knowledge of unhappy guests or food poisoning, I have personally never heard anything so ridiculous.
We have visited Goa for the past 10 years staying in various other hotels and have never been unwell or had cause to complain.
Please DO NOT book this hotel our visit this year was for my father to say goodbye having himself being a visitor for 26 years and now to frail to continue visiting. This was ruined by the hotel.

The property has everything to offer for all age groups,be it clean swimming pool, open bar nearby, fishing zone at river, indoor game room, gym and pool table.
The restaurant has loads of variety of food spread with welcoming staff who takes care individually with mouth watering delicacy.
