Roundcube Patnem — Hotel in Goa

Horrible experience!! My husband and I had an early morning flight for which we had requested the manager Mr. Kundan for an airport pick-up and confirmed it with him twice over the phone. On reaching Goa airport, there was no one to pick us up. We waited for an hour thinking that someone must be on their way but no one showed up. We called Mr. Kundan 15 times and he never answered my calls. We were stranded at the airport.

We then decided to book a ride from the airport and were headed towards Roundcube Patnem. It was a journey of 1.5 hours. On reaching the location at 9:30 AM, Mr Kundan was not available at the site. Only the waiters were available. My husband requested them to speak to the manager i.e Mr. Kundan. I speak Hindi and overheard the staff talking on the phone to the manager telling him that there were guests that were not picked up at the airport. After speaking with him, they returned to our table and said that he is at home sleeping ( even though they had just talked to him behind us!). Then at 12:30 PM (Late Check-in) we asked to speak to the manager again, and they told us that he was in the hospital. So the staff is either incompetent or lied to us. Then my husband called the manager directly from is phone which was an unknown number to the manager, he answered and said that he was at home.

On checking in, we realized that there was no lock on the front door and the electricity was turned off in the room. On complaining about the room, the hotel offered us nothing for our troubles. At this point it was 1:30 PM and we were so done with the horrible experience that we were having at this hotel so we decided to check out and leave that same day. We drove back up 1 hour to Radisson Blu in Cavelossim Beach which was a wonderful decision we made and saved our trip to Goa.

This room was under-furnished, the front door did not have a lock, the front door was facing a very dirty rooftop, there were cats lingering around the kitchen, the bathroom was very un-hygenic. The only good thing about the place was that it was a beachfront room - but that didn't matter because of the horrible experience we were having. It was definitely not worth the price! We'd rather pay another couple thousand rupees and stay at an established hotel where good service and hospitality is guaranteed. Oh and I am pregnant, so this ordeal was 10x more exhausting and upsetting for me....

We have booked Round Cube beach bunglow for 3days of Rs 5500/ per day, from 23rd December onwards, after consulting hotel front desk directly. On arrival at Palolem, Goa at our schedule date we called hotel for assistance accordingly one person namelg Irfan arrived and show us way towards opposite as location showed at Google map. Irfan took us beside Coco Huts Resort/Art Resort and show as some cootage(5 cottage all), in a narrow, dirty lane and informed it was Roundcube beach bunglow which is different as shown at website. Also there was no sighn board. We understood that we are cheated. We asked Irfan to provide room at Roundcube beach bunglow, where we booked our room, but he insist that the said property is Roundcube and our booking was made there. We know that Round cube has two property as Beach bunglow and guest house, but we confused about the 3rd unmarked property. Later one Mr Rupesh from Roundcube arrived and insist to stay there and assured us. Rupesh also confessed that the property come cost not more than Rs 2500/ per day. Lastly we made a call to local police station and narrate the story, but Irfan made call to his men of local ps and set the whole thing. But we stick to our point and asked them to provide our schedule rooms at beach bunglow or returned our money(but booking money was not refundable). At the time of argument another couple from Hyderabad who were staying at the said unmarked hut came out and informed that they were also cheated but had to stay there with Rs 3500/ per day. Lastly Roundcube refund our entire money and we shifted to another cottage, which is on beach and having beach front view named Castal Cave beside Neptune point with Rs 5000/ per day. We are very happy to stay at Castal Cave. So everybody who just amazed to see the website of Round cube, please think twise. I think they are cheater and earned through illegal means. As such dont go for Roundcube, there is many more good property to stay. Be cautioned...
