Came down to Patnem for a couple of nights from our extended stay in Majorda. Picked this place to eat on our second night, walked past it the first time as it's not well signposted. The venue is in a beautiful garden area and has a chilled vibe. Ordered 3 light bites to share, food was good but the main issue was the young dog who bothered us the whole time! A party of 3 actually walked out when the dog scared one of the females. Let me say we are used to seeing many dogs in restaurants in Goa but this young dog kept jumping up at us and put it's dirty paws on my wife's white trousers. I shouted at the dog a couple of times but the owner failed to keep the dog away from us while we were trying to eat. He seemed more interested in chatting to his mates at another table. We asked for the bill only to find a 10% service charge added with (optional) written at the bottom - we took the option of not paying this. Such a shame that the dog and the uncaring owner spoilt what could have been a lovely evening in a beautiful setting. Please take note, not everyone enjoys having a dog jump up at them when they are eating the food! We went to another restaurant to have dessert before...

This place is an experience, not just a café. The ambience? Super awesome. Think cool, breezy, chill hill-station-meets-coastal-vibe. It hits all the right notes — cozy, earthy, and vibing hard with aesthetics that calm your soul and lift your mood.
Now coming to the real deal — the food. 10/10. Fresh, flavourful, crafted to perfection — every bite is a masterpiece. From the first sip to the last bite, you’ll feel the difference. This is not your average café fare — it’s n times better than some hyped-up names in South Goa (you know who 👀).
The chef here is a magician — truly skilled and passionate. You can taste the difference in every dish.
This place just rocketed to the top of my South Goa café list — yes, even above Zest. (And I’m a fan of Zest too, but yeah — Pahadi Roots Zest. Period.)
Must visit. Will visit again. Probably again and again. 😍💯 A hidden gem that deserves all the love...
Read morePahadi Roots has been like my second home in Patnem and here's why: • Food - It's reasonably priced and exceptionally delicious. Their Saag, Daal Dhuli are personal favourites and the Elderflower Spritzer is perfect for a sunny day, but the Chocolate Vegan Cake is what has me coming back the most! You must try it - thank me later. • Staff - Meddy and his team (Mishu & Tanu) do a splendid job in running the place in a timely manner...and if you're lucky and it isn't too busy, you might also catch Meddy playing a few tunes on his guitar. It's the perfect spot for an impromptu jam sesh!! • Ambience & Location - Pahadi is centrally located in the heart of Patnem but the way it's set up, you feel like you're in a banana orchard in the jungle. I've spent hours on end there on sweltering hot days. They also occasionally host amazing pop-ups and live music nights so follow them on Insta to stay tuned! All in all, Pahadi is where it's...
