I recently had the pleasure of staying at Roamate Hostel in Manali, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. This hidden gem provided me with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, leaving me with lasting memories of my time in this beautiful mountain town.
As a budget traveler, I opted to stay in the dormitory, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the accommodations. The rooms were neat and tidy, with fresh bedsheets that made for a cozy and relaxing stay. Hot water was available in the washroom. The cafeteria serves home made food.
The highlight of my stay at Roamate Hostel was undoubtedly the host and the staff. Their exceptional level of hospitality and friendliness created a warm and welcoming environment for all the guests. The host went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met and provided valuable local insights and recommendations. Their helpfulness truly made me feel at home, and I am grateful for their kindness throughout my stay.
While the lack of parking at the hostel may seem like a drawback, it is important to note that this is a common situation in Manali. However, there is a solution as you can park your vehicle on the roadside, just like many other hotels in the area. Although it may require a 1.5 km walk from the mall road, it is a small inconvenience considering the exceptional location of the hostel. If you opt for an auto rickshaw, they will drop you 200 meters away from the hostel, and you can enjoy a pleasant walk to the top. Trust me, the breathtaking surroundings and serene atmosphere make the walk absolutely worth it.
In terms of pricing, Roamate Hostel offers excellent value for money. It is comparatively affordable without compromising on the quality of the facilities and services provided. The combination of clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and the stunning location make it an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers who still want to experience the best that Manali has to offer.
In conclusion, my stay at Roamate Hostel was a memorable and rewarding experience. From the clean and comfortable dormitory to the helpful and friendly host, everything exceeded my expectations. Despite the parking situation and the slight distance from the mall road, the exceptional location and the breathtaking surroundings make it worth every step. I highly recommend Roamate Hostel to anyone looking for an affordable and enjoyable...
Read moreWe went to Manali at the most unfortunate time possible After returning from a Trek, we decided to crash in the Roamate hostel, not knowing how terrible the city was going to get over the next two days We were stuck in the city with no electricity, network, internet, and water. There was a red alert in place and panic in the streets. We decided to stock up and get some cash from the ATM before the situation got worse. And it did get worse. But the hosts in this hostel were AMAZING! They could have easily closed their kitchen during this crisis and it would have been the most casual response. We stocked up thinking that this would happen. But they were so great that until our stay, they kept the kitchen open. Yes, they only had 2-3 items on the menu at the time but it was more than what we needed in that time of crisis. We were regularly clearing our kitchen dues, but the host told us to wait till things start to get better and save cash since the ATM had shut down ♥️ The day we decided to leave, we were overtime by 2-3 hours, but they didn't charge us anything extra. They were extremely understanding and even told us to come back midway if the route seems dangerous and we feel uncomfortable! They were just the most kind, heartwarming people we met at a very terrifying time in our lives.
Also, the room was amazing! We had a superior room with a river view. Would have never imagined that beautiful of a room in a hostel. The rooms are clean. There was a great vibe in the hostel. It's on some height, which was a little annoying initially, but when we saw the water level rising... it became a much more...
Read moreThe seri House in Manali is a bit of a hike, with around 55 steep stairs, which can be challenging for seniors or those with mobility issues. However, the scenic views and greenery make it worth the effort. We stayed here for 7 days, and while the rooms were decent for the price, the staff was a major letdown. The cleaning was infrequent, and when we asked for it to be done, the staff seemed put off. The toilet seat was broken throughout our stay, and we had to wait a long time for food. The rice was even half-cooked at times. What really took the cake was the staff's complete lack of courtesy and professionalism. They spoke to us with utter disrespect and rudeness, showing no regard for basic manners. On our last day, we had to leave early due to landslides and traffic, and when my husband asked for tea, the waiter was particularly rude. We also had issues with the staff when we asked for our food to be cooked properly or for them to heat up food we had brought from home. They flat out refused, without any apology or explanation. Given the poor service and the staff's appalling behavior, I wouldn't recommend this place, despite its scenic views. The rates were also not particularly cheap, and there are better options available in the area, like Leela Hutts, which offers better service. I'd give this place 1...
