Cafe Kathmandu — Restaurant in Himachal Pradesh

My partner & I enjoyed a delicious Monday brunch at Café Kathmandu. I recommend a drop-in simply to enjoy the warm & welcoming service. A special thank you to Kamal who was a wonderful host.

We ordered the Indian Breakfast, Set Breakfast and Egg Fried Rice plus coffee, a latte & watermelon juice. The food was delicious— although the Fried Rice a bit too spicy for our Western palettes, but we’re learning to ask now for no spicy seasoning— and was all served promptly.

The café atmosphere was eclectic and since we were the only guests there, a super laid back experience where we could listen to the Beas River flowing just below us. I especially enjoyed seeing the beautiful Shiva wall art at the entryway.

I had my dinner here on 01 April 2025 with my friends, we had a disappointing experience dinning here. We ordered a hukkah along with food, the hukkah stopped making smoke in 7-8 minutes of usage, on complaining we were greeted by rude and unprofessional behaviour on the cafe’s management part, they just kept saying this is what hukkah is like, the hukkah was made using old, already burnt flavour and less coil was used so that it doesn’t burn too quickly. As we are from Delhi, we know things or two about hukkah and they were just trying to scam us. These places in Manali Mall Road and old Manali where the customer only go once, are just there to scam people.

Beautiful riverside cafe serving a variety of dishes. Quick service and food was great. Prices were reasonable. Would recommend highly as it has great reviews.

**Just wanted to say my trip to Kasol was very suddenly planned and it was a solo budget trip. Most of the restaurants/cafés I reviewed were only based on the ambiance and the service they provided. As I was traveling solo I couldn’t manage to eat a lot/order variety of dishes in those restaurants hence I couldn’t talk much about the food. But I must recommend everyone to visit the restaurants I reviewed as they have really nice ratings. I’m sure there are many more to explore which I’m gonna save up for next...
