Narayani Heights — Hotel in Gujarat

From the time of arrival when the only ramp for wheelchair user was blocked, with 1 terminal that accepts overseas cards - making checking in v difficult. A prior booking into a suite room was not reserved by them and so we had no choice but to upgrade. The corridors smelt of stale smoke, carpets stained and rickety bumps into and out of any doorway/lift. The top range of room had the door jammed and scrape against wall to open & close, which only 1 of the 3 of us could do. Even their own staff struggled with this. Had to order room meal 3 times and even then it was wrong & cold. Water leaked all over bathroom floor everytime using the sink. There was rust on the taps. An extra rollout bed was ordered for a child and a mattress was brought in as sofabed didn't work. Used sheets were then put on top and no pillow provided. 2x TVs weren't working, had people coming in & out of the room whilst trying to sleep - without them even asking or knocking ... nothing was resolved. We only had an overnight stay but even that was a nightmare and we ended up only getting 4hrs sleep only because we were exhausted after the number of calls we had to make to reception/front desk! Too much outside party noise. The manager said he'd refund us yet he didn't give any paperwork/invoice for the room. He just gave his word. Again payment terminals were not working to check out and this wasn't resolved even when we had to leave or else we would've missed our flight! I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone both in India nor overseas and I liken it to Faulty Towers, if not worse!

The reviews I've noticed after a bad review have then had high ratings from what looks like staff members (possibly family too) to increase...

I'm sharing my really unfortunate experience having dealt with Manish, Shubham, Mukesh at Narayani Heights.

1. I had explicitly called ahead to request a twin room, and then rechecked this at check-in twice. To my horror, I entered the room (exhausted after a 20hr journey and desperately in need of dinner & sleep) to find a king bed. This then took over 90mins to switch rooms after I called reception 3 times (each time being told someone would ring me back in 5mins, but then didn't)

2. In the 2nd room I was offered, the floor carpet had huge wet patches in 4 major parts of the room, clearly showing signs of damage. Again I called the reception and was promised a resolution or room switch. After ringing 3 times over 2hrs (each time being told someone would ring back or resolve it, but never did), a member of staff arrived, saw it was wet, but offered no solution and they had no rooms to switch me to. I then had to ring again before a manager sent up towels to cover the patches

3. Finally, on check out, we requested compensation for our issues and to speak to a manager. In this conversation, we were accused of complaining too much ("no other guests have had any issues") and offered just a Rs. 90 (£1) discount for each guest on a buffet meal we didn't even want. We also were accused of lying ("we offered you a room switch but you didn't take it") and were laughed out of the hotel. Shocking experience, completely lack of respect for a guest, and dirty, damp room which may have been soiled by anything for all I know. Such a disappointing...

Free WiFi is available only for the room guests and not for anyone else, not even members. It is the only negative point which has been observed so far by many people.

Parking facility is available. There are two levels for parking and the parking lot is safe enough.

Nice indoor swimming pool; the ambience is also nice in the indoor swimming pool.

Home theatre is available.

Discotheque is also available.

But both discotheque as well as the theatre need to be booked well in advance.
