Posting the review here because MMT is taking a long time to publish my review on their site. My wife and I stayed here for 1 night, 28/12/2021 – 29/12/2021
Location: The hotel is situated in a busy and narrow street in Veraval. However, the entrance to the hotel is from a private road which also serves as a parking area for the hotel guests. There is no shortage of vegetarian restaurants, eateries, and other shops nearby, all in walking distance. The hotel itself had a vegetarian restaurant on the top floor. The menu looked very pricey and so we skipped in favor of others nearby.
Parking: Guest parking is provided in a narrow private street adjacent to the hotel.
Driver Accommodation: A common room was provided to our driver which he shared with other drivers.
Check-in: The check-in process was smooth and quick. The receptionist was helpful and had a well-disposed attitude during check-in and check-out.
Room: The room given to us was spacious enough, equipped with toiletries (minus the soap), clean towels, an electric kettle, sachet packets for Tea, Coffee, and milk. The linen and pillow covers were up to the standards of a good hotel.
The bathroom was clean, well-maintained, and looked modern, but the toilet flush functionality was more than a nightmare. The two flush buttons provided had to be pressed simultaneously for 5+ seconds every time and each time, the water from the flush tank would gush out with such force that the surrounding floor would become wet too. When brought to the notice of the staff as soon as the check-in process, far from acknowledging the problem and giving us a different room, we were told that this is the latest fittings from Jaguar company and it would require some getting used to. Also, when wet, the bathroom floor became very slippery, to the point of hazardous.
Overall: A very pricey hotel with decent facilities. I tend to believe we were unlucky to get a room with faulty toilet flush and what was annoying was the refusal to at least acknowledge the problem. Depending on the season, there may be other better hotels available either in Veraval or Somnath for this or lesser...
Read moreI spent a weekend at the city tower Hotel in somnath and it was a fabulous experience. The hotel is located near somnath temple and nearby market. The room was luxurious, spacious and well-appointed, with a plush bed and a marble bathroom. The staff was courteous and professional, and the service was impeccable. The best part of the hotel was the roof top restaurant, Colony Clubhouse & Grill. It was a lavish rooftop restaurant with a glamorous decor and a five-star dining experience. The restaurant offered a panoramic view of the sea and the city, and the ambiance was romantic and elegant. The food was exquisite and varied, with dishes from continental, Indian and seafood cuisines. The service was attentive and friendly, and the presentation was impressive. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious stay in somnath. It is one of the best hotels I have...
