It's a very beautiful place. The staff is polite and friendly. But the owner Vishakha is not. I was volunteering at another property owned and co-hosted by her and by her boyfriend Shrikant.
For the first two weeks it was great, but her behaviour on the last day ruined my experience there. What happened was, she made a joke at my expense, and I politely told her later on (in private) that I didn't like it, but "let's move on, it's no big deal". She took it so bad, she just stopped answering my calls and texts, despite me trying to make peace. And just a little later, Shrikant, who had never said one impolite thing to me before that, suddenly started giving me sarcastic replies, and making me feel like I'm not part of the team. It felt bad to be talked to like this, after two weeks of me doing my part. In less than an hour, the skilful manipulator that Vishakha showed herself to be, managed to make Shrikant forget the wonderful camaraderie we'd had over the previous two weeks, and to start to resent me. I'd thought I'd leave on a very happy note because of how nice Shrikant was to me, but Vishakha ruined it for me.
Another thing, Vishakha - Have realistic expectations from volunteers. Despite me telling you multiple times that I'm rubbish at drawing, and that I'M COLOUR BLIND, you annoyingly kept asking me for inputs on the wall art. In case you didn't notice, I'm a bloody good host, I engage most guests pretty well (be it with my travel stories, by playing chess with them or with whatever else), AND….HELLO….I PLAY LIVE MUSIC! These are huge talents by themselves; and have taken thousands of hours of my life to hone (especially the last one). And on top of all that, you wanted me to have a good eye for wall art as well?
If you want a guitarist, singer, host, cafe-help, bookkeeper and wall artist, all in one, you shouldn't get a volunteer. You should just do everything your...
Read moreLocation - it is located at a very amazing location giving you a wonderful view of the valley, and there is the constant sound of the flowing water which is really soothing. Almost all the places are at a closer proximity like mini Thailand, shesh naag temple and waterfall. Also the other cafes at jibhi are accessible by a small walk. It is very serene as it is located a slight distance from the road.
Rooms - The rooms are super amazing, very airy and comfortable. Amazing views too. Cleanliness is at par. The staff is also super friendly and amazing. And that was the best part. There are too many games at the cafe to indulge yourself. Too many amazing novels too. I just wanted to sit idly at the window and watch time pass by, it was that beautiful. Maybe next time 😉
Other facilities - The food was so amazing. Literally everything we ate during our stay was delicious, veg and non veg both. Bheema didi and datta bhaia were so helpful and friendly. I have never felt i was far away from home. It felt as comfortable as our own home.
This place was meant as a manifestation of Vishaka Didi's dream, but it really is a dream come true for everyone. Vishaka di would help you tremendously to plan an itinerary perfectly and help contact a cab to visit some nearby villages or treks. Any issue you have, Vishaka di is the person for you!! She is the most amazing host I have ever met ❣️
Hoping to visit again very soon. Thankyou so much Vishaka di, Auntie, Bheema didi, Datta bhaia, Hritik bhaia and everyone else. It still feels like a dream and I don't want to wake up!
P.S - If traveling by the bus, it will drop you right near mini Thailand stop and it's literally a small 2 min walk from there
Also - In case you visit, do paint a...
