The host - Johar Singh Ji and his family would welcome you with open arms and make you feel at home. They are always available and goes that extra mile to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. Once you book the place through any website , make sure you give them a call / send an email as at times web aggregators tends to overbook without checking proper inventory. We faced similar issues but the hosts were kind enough to accommodate us. There is ample parking arrangements. From parking, the place is located downhill (around 60 metres) which is a comfortable walk but an elderly person with severe walking difficulty might find it a bit overwhelming, however it is doable. We had been to this place in May and stayed for there for 2 nights. It is a beautiful home as the name suggests away from the general tourists. Homestay's window give one of the most breathtaking peaceful surroundings.

The place is managed by a fine gentleman and his family who are very hospitable and welcoming. The peaceful environment is what we enjoyed the most. To add to the environment, the rooms were neat, spacious and were just as comfortable as home.

The food was amazing and homely. We enjoyed all our meals.

During the day, there are quite a few day treks around the homestay with a beautiful Tibetan craft center near it. During one of our nights, we had a bonfire where we kept ourselves warm and gazed at the starlit sky before crashing to bed.

Will definitely recommend this place to others, provided you are ready to stay away from main crowded Dalhousie, which is definitely worth it. Will be looking forward to going there again during my next vistit...
