Metro Lodge — Hotel in Hyderabad

Came across this property over the internet and the only reason being searching for places close to charminar. Booked via Oyo where I was offered a deal of 1701 for 3 nights. Paid 10 percent of the amount to confirm booking and the remaining at the property.

As many people have mentioned, I reached the property around 10am but was denied check in with sheer arrogance. The exact lines were - "don't you see what's the check in time mentioned in site", no one is allowed before 12noon ?

When I requested early check in or to atleast just get freshen up he denied saying nothing is available and to use public ones near charminar instead. Anyways i wandered around Charminar and entered the property around 12:15 noon, where there was a new fellow at the reception. He asked to wait for some more time maybe till 2pm citing that the person who was supposed to check out has delayed the same. However in reality rooms were vacant, since I was tired i sat on the sofa thinking to cancel the booking. He then called after 15 mins and asked for my documents and offered the room key.

The lodge is located within the gullies of charminar and has shops all around it. Infact the ground floor itself is a shop while the floor above is the lodging area. No proper security, rooms had an unpleasant odour, and had an absolute antique feel. The corridors were clean yet smelly. The attached washroom was small and a disaster since the taps are loosely fit leading to leakage of water all the time.

The power points are at a height above the usual so could be a problem for people with average or less height. The wifi is only available at the reception or ground floor and will vanish as soon as you enter the room due to insufficient bandwidth. TV and AC are available for display purposes only. Geyser would only work once you tell them to activate. As usual Oyo standards, they would not offer towels or toiletries so had a difficult time arranging them myself. The room's lock was just like a small toy and on repeated requests was given a somewhat stronger lock on my last day of stay.

They did not provide blankets and the room had used cushions, pillows from previous stay which were not cleaned. A thin blue colored blanket was provided later on request.

Due to the location, there would be noises almost all the time. I hardly stayed here but spent most of the time roaming outside with my belongings on my back.

Oyo should strip off certification after doing a thorough check of standards maintained there. I also came to know the area is known for thefts and crimes and I got similar vibes when I would return back around 10:30 pm. I was literally counting my days to get over despite being on vacation. During the checkout time, none of the person at the reception were present and i handed the keys to the maid...

Manager attitude is more than a celebrity and room is around with 🧑‍🌾 bed bugs be careful. On 7/05/24 we had booked 2 rooms for three days upto Friday on arrival manager even won't allow us to sit on reception we request them because with us children also there and we arrived around 9 am but our check in time is 12 we request him to we came 900 km away and need just washroom for fresh up and we will sit here in reception for just 30 mins but he refused. After sometime he called me and asked me to give 300 bucks extra so I can provide a room, I said ok and asked him to show the room He gave me keys and said go up and see, I had noticed several bed bugs and cockroach over there also room is very tidy and unhygienic so refused there room and cancel my booking also lost 50%...

First thing first...me and my sugar went to Metro Logde in South Beach knowing that they not very expensive. Heard from a friend mind you.||As much as it was a peak season but to pay 800rands for just one night. No breakfast, no water in the rooms, cheap cheap cheap dark in color toilet paper..... Lord the bed and the bedding. ||Did we have a towel in the room.... hell nah. The steel res table like the ones that they use for fabricating components at work was there also.||Lord I never felt so robbed. It was a day light robbery. If I can have a chance to jabe a refund I would. Am still heart broken even now. ||I have a video of the 800rands room. Just do not know how to upload it. ||Sugar and I will never call again in that place. We learnt that booking are suppose to...
