Below are series of events that happened in span of 1 hours which forced me to leave the property : It took the team 25-30 mins to check us in even though the check in counter was rather empty.2. The ladies washroom in the lobby was so stinky and dirty that my daughter refused to enter, mind you, she waited for 1hour to reach the hotel from the airport so as to use the washroom. This made me furious and I had to tell reception 3 times to get the washroom cleaned so that my 9yr old can use it. This is unacceptable and I cannot imagine having this experience in IHCL branded property3. Reception team looked absolutely confused and disoriented during the check in process and I kept asking them what the holdup was and all they had to say was that we are a new hotel and they are trying to figure out "something".4. They somehow managed to give us a room which was an executive suite and the team kept fumbling again and again on where our luggage was. I reminded them 3 times which was our and they still couldn't figure it out. 5. Upon entering the room, I saw it had one double bed instead of advertised two (screenshot below) and when I countered the reception they simply said it might be a mistake and we will get it corrected. This made me go mad because the only reason I booked a suite was that it has two beds. Also, the door of the room had wall plaster coming out near the brackets. 6. To add to the misry, there were dirty & stinkin clothes in the washroom (from previous checkin I guess) and my daughter and wife both were disgusted beyond belief at this gory sight. 7. When I confronted the team, all I got was that we can get it cleaned and look at their "I don't care" demeanor, I asked for a refund and they did so in less than 2mins. 8. I cannot tell you when I last saw or heard that cancellation of the booking is quicker than checkin and the callous attitude of the staff : "hamare yahan aisa hota hai" attitude is beyond belief.9. I carried my luggage along with my family in -1c temperature to a hotel 300m from Ginger and I felt they were better organized, mannered and careful of...
Read moreI'll be very honest with you all, the hotel overall was a 3 star (as it is already) but my brutally honest would be a 2 star. The rooms were okay not amazing or out of the world but good enough for relaxing. The food was also alright and would be loved by the people who enjoy spicy food. The service though was great, so was the staff. My flight got cancelled and after a brief talk with a staff member at the reception, he planned to not charge me for the day i was supposed to arrive on and check in. This humble act made me give them a whole 4 but not a 5 and i will tell you why.
Positives: The staff was humble and understanding. The food was alright. Ambience was lovely. Wi-fi was there. Basic amenities were available. Overall vibe was relaxing. A small living room at the entrance of the room
Negatives: (a) The location was not exactly 'pleasing' as there was the road right infront of it. Basically it was on the main road with no legit view and 'market' around it. (b) the bathrooms smelled horrible. (c). the walls of the rooms were clean and the window corners were also very dusty. (d) their service was very slow mainly due to less manpower and more/out of hands guests. (e) some furniture was dusty as well. (f) the locker was broken and nobody came to fix it even after 3 calls at the reception (g) no water pressure in the shower. (h) the bedsheets were stained (i) The bed was very small; it was me, my husband and our kid who were staying at the hotel. The bed was too small for all the three of us to sleep and after a talk at the reception, we were told that the hotel was fully booked and there was no other room available. On top of that, we were also told that the bed in our room was of the largest size and there was no bed larger than that. One of us had to sleep on the couch provided at the entrance. (j) the...
Read more🌟 A Dream Stay in Kashmir – Ginger Srinagar Barzulla 🌟
This was my very first visit to the breathtaking land of Kashmir, and choosing to stay at Ginger Srinagar Barzulla turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
From the moment we arrived, the entire staff welcomed us with warmth, kindness, and the most melodious, well-spoken words that instantly made us feel at home. Each member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect.
We had added breakfast to our booking—and trust me, it was a decision well made! The food area was so clean, inviting, and beautifully maintained that we couldn’t help but go for second helpings. The ambiance, the service, the hospitality—it was all truly exceptional.
Special thanks to Manager Qayyum Sir, who was incredibly cooperative throughout our stay. When our return flight was delayed, GM Imran Sir personally assured us that we could relax and stay a bit longer without any rush—his gesture touched our hearts. Amir Bhau from the food team treated us like family, and Ashfaq Sir was always around whenever we needed anything—always with a smile.
It genuinely felt like a dream stay—a memory I’ll cherish forever. Yes, there are many hotels in Kashmir, but where you choose to stay can truly change your entire experience of the city.
If you’re planning a trip to Kashmir, I wholeheartedly recommend Ginger Srinagar Barzulla. Let this place be part of your beautiful memories too.
