Hotel Star of Kashmir — Hotel in Jammu and Kashmir

Stayed in this hotel in Feb 2024. It wasn't a great experience compared to other hotel that we stayed during our vacation.

Due to our flight cancellation we booked this hotel for 1 day stay (via marahib travels ) as it was close to airport.

1. There is no lift facility so if any elders are there might find difficult to climb.

2. Food is not great compared to other 3* hotel that we stayed. No sweets in dinner , roti and rice is hard to digest.

3. The room we got in 3rd floor had problem with window door not closing. There was heavy snowfall during that day and we literally froze in minus temperature. The central heating system will be switched on only after 6pm. The heating mechanism on bed is only effective on one side. Wardrobe handles broken, bathroom is pretty small. The hotwater kettle provided wasn't clean.

More importantly, the attitude of staff was very rude. When I informed about window not closing ,he ignored couple of times and when I told 3rd time, he told other guests didn't had any problem so you also adjust. I don't know if other guests stayed there during heavy snowfall or minus temperature. I was expecting a reply if he can atleast try to fix it or say he will fix it soon.

We had a medical emergency and needed to buy some medicine , it was 8:30 in the night and most of the shops are closed and risky to step out in snowfall. When I asked for help in reception, he told just go outside walk along the road you will find a shop(which i couldn't find in Google map). Atleast for courtesy he could have offered some help as we are new to that place.

I wouldnt recommend anyone to stay here. The management/staff doesn't know how to speak to client or rectify their concerns. Giving 2 stars only because it's close to airport. There are many good hotels close to Dal lake (3/4...

Worst hotel I have stayed in the recent years. Beds are making sounds when you sit on them . Blankets were not clean, and suddenly 2 lights started to glew at 1am in the night disturbing the sleep. trying desperately to switch off but no avail. Finally had to sleep with those bright lights ON. Their staircase is extremely narrow with only 1 person can use at a time. Old people will find diffult to climb especially if its 2nd floor. In the event of fire, God knows how people can be evacuated especially people in 1st and 2nd floors They switch on the heater only for few hours in the evening and in the night if you feel cold inside the room, you have to use the poorly maintained blankets. They won't entertain to switch on room heater unless there is a rain outside as per their rule

Least said about their food is better. My bowel movement got immediately upset when I had their Aloo Parathas in their morning complimentary breakfast

Don't get carried away by their outer appearance of this hotel in website or any online forum. Only advantage is the location. It all appeared like poor gully area inside the hotel with rooms everywhere and very little room for people movement. Stay in this hotel only if you don't...

WHEN YOU BOOK A 3 STAR HOTEL YOU HAVE LITTLE BIT EXPECTATIONS

THE STAFF IS ALL FULLY UNPROFESSIONAL NO ONE WAS WEARING UNIFORM RECEPTION IS THE FACE OF HOTEL BUT I AM SORRY TO SAY HOUSEKEEPING STAFF WERE COLLECTING LINEN AND GIVING TOWELS EMNITIES IN THE RECEPTION AREA THE ROOM I HAD BOOKED WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME I REACHED HOTEL EXACTLY 12:30 THE RECEPTION STAFF TOLD ME THAT THE ROOM IS NOT READY THAN I WENT OUTSIDE I REACHED HOTEL AGAIN 1:45 EVEN THAT TIME ROOM WAS NOT REDAY THE MAIN THING : THE PERSON WHO BOOKED MY ROOM AND THE HOTEL FRONT OFFICE STAFF AS WELL HAS NO COORDINATION EACH OTHER FULLY UNPROFESSIONAL WHICH ROOM SHOULD WE GIVE TO WHICH GUEST THE GUEST WHO HAD BOOKED THE ROOM HAS TO GIVE THE SAME ROOM THIS IS WAY OF PROFESIONAL MY ROOM WAS CHANGED TWICE :!
