Kaira was a beautiful stay. The rooms and the place were very neatly maintained. A room can accommodate 3-4 people. It was a very private place suitable for families and friends. The location was pretty interior - 5kms approx from Basarakatte main road, but the directions were already communicated clearly during our air bnb booking hence there were no confusions in that case. The signals would be weak, hence better to call the host prior taking the mud road for better clarity. The scenery around was an absolute treat to the eyes. The climate complimented the stay. You can talk a walk across the vast spread forest around the stay and enjoy the nature. A special mention to the care takers - Sathish, who did a splendid job in taking care of our group. He was always available for us and served us with all the necessary requirements. The cook, who had also served us with sumptuous food on time and with a lot of varieties in adequate quantities. Overall would rate 10/10 for the stay/place, location and the food. A definite visit again sometime with a...
Read moreThey place is about 80 to 90 Kms from Chickamangalore up among ghe coffee plantations. If you are a Senior Citizen you may not enjoy the settings. They would prefer temple sites and to serve their interests. However, for young people who come with friends it will be enjoyable. Beautiful surroundings, excellent and understanding hosts, very good food (made to your taste).
It is a typical coffee estate with a little bit of wild life (wild bison, wild boar etc.... rarely seen)
If you intend to go, remember the last 5 Kms are mud tracks. The internet services will be weak. Call the host and ask them to come down 5Km and escort you. We lost our way.
The road from Hassan to the place is excellent. Winding roads with surrounding forests, chilly weather, all make make an excellent trip.
There is a single cottage with sit out and two rooms. Good for maybe 6 people at the most. There is a separate dining area... clean and neat.
Sringeri Mutt (45 kms) and Sri Annnpoorneswari Temple (10 kms) are the...
Read moreMy partner, our dog (Aldo), and I just returned from an unforgettable stay at this coffee estate, and we’re already dreaming of our next visit. From start to finish, this was pure magic. The estate is safely enclosed, with plenty of space for our pet to explore. It’s rare to find a place where both humans and pets feel so genuinely welcomed. The hostess - Iona was very warm, generous, and full of stories throughout the stay and made us feel like old friends. Their hospitality went above and beyond - always attentive but never intrusive.
Waking up to misty coffee plantations, sipping fresh coffee on the veranda, and falling asleep to the sounds of nature… It was bliss. The room was clean, and filled with charming local touches. If you crave authentic connection with the nature, and a peaceful retreat (with your furry friends), go ahead and book this gem. Thank you for an experience we’ll...
