The moment you start interacting with the first person from their staff you start to get a sense that you have come to a place where you will be treated with the best behaviour which you can get anywhere in the world.
This was our first visit to any Marriott hotels. We met Yasir at the reception and he was very courteous in dealing with us. He helped me understand how to navigate through the Marriott Bonvoy app and use it (as it was my first time).
This visit was special because we're came for my wife's birthday. I wanted to surprise her and didn't know if something would be possible by hotel's staff for it. I quietly asked Yasir about it at reception and he said "Sir I will msg you on WhatsApp". He was smart enough to know that I could not talk about that in front of my wife, so he said he will talk on WhatsApp.
After 1-2 hours Yasir from front desk messaged me on WhatsApp and said "Don't worry her we will take care of decoration and cake for your wife, just let me know when you guys are not in the room and we will come and make the arrangements". I was so happy that we can have this arranged as a cherry on top for my wife.
The next day while my wife went for a spa, Yasir sent Diksha who was an expert in such decorations. She came like a storm, very nicely interacted with our daughter and moved quickly and made all decor arrangements just in 15 minutes. The room looked so amazing and so quickly (right before my wife could come back from spa). Just at the same time cake also arrived and I don't even have to mention that how great the cake was. It was as good as you can expect in a 5 star exotic backery.
There are 2 restaurant in the resort - Terra and Kokoon. Terra is the one which serves in room dining and also breakfast, it's a much bigger restaurant than Kokoon and serves all kinds of cousins. Kokoon is fairly new and targets asian cuisines.
Chef Sonam came to our table the first time we sat inside Terra and asked her how can she help her. She asked if she can do any special preparation for us. This was our first time a chef came to our table and asked us this. Even staff that was serving food, they were so nice, always smiling and making sure our tables were clean and took our orders when needed.
Every time we went to Terra we sat on the same table and had almost the same staff looking after us, which created a bond between us and them. Sonam was always available whenever we went to Terra and she came multiple times to our table and made sure we were having what we wanted.
On the 2nd day of our stay Chef Girish came to our table and asked us how we are feeling (a person with the most heartfelt smiling face) and how has been our stay until then. He suggested us to visit Kokoon once and suggested some items that we could order there. We did just that, se booked a table for the same night at Kokoon.
And Oh my God was it good. Kokoon is a small restaurant compared to Terra but the food is so amazing. There we had Raw Mango and Avocado Salad, I cannot emphasis enough for everyone how great that tasted. Every bite we took was heavenly and we thought how can a salad taste so good. We asked for the chef and he graciously came to our table and talked about the salad and about the restaurant.
Before we were leaving Kokoon, chef presented us with a complimentary Creme Brulee as dessert. A thing about Mulberry I felt is how they make you feel while you are there. This dessert was not only delicious, but made us feel that we are at the center of the world for them. These small things stay with you for very very long and why will I not talk about them with everyone I meet ? We felt so nice, I don't know what to say.
While we were leaving and we were having our last breakfast, Chef Sonam came back and asked us if she can pack something for our daughter while we will travel back to the city and it will be a 2-3 hours journey. We couldn't think of anything, but while we were checking out she came with some fruits and a paratha for our daughter on her own.
How we felt? Stay there atleast 1 day to...
Read moreOur family of 7 recently had the privilege of staying at the Mulberry Shades, Bangalore to celebrate our cousin’s 40th birthday and it was nothing short of a spectacular experience. The moment we set foot on the property, we were captivated by the grandeur and beauty of the resort. The architecture is a perfect blend of sustainability and luxury, providing a serene atmosphere that is truly unique , seamlessly blending into the landscape. The lush green surroundings and the meticulously maintained landscapes added to the charm, making us feel like we were in a royal retreat. I have been to almost all of Marriott properties in India, But this one was definitely one of the best -be it hospitality or the property itself. I have been to many good properties over India but I have never experienced such royal hospitality - from room service to buggy drivers, each and everyone was always willing to help and greet with warm smiles. The Hospitality is of highest quality in this property.
The rooms were luxurious , spacious and beautifully designed with all the modern amenities one could ask for. Each room was a sanctuary that provided the perfect respite after a day of activities. The attention to detail in the decor and the comfort of the beds were commendable. We were delighted to see customised pillow covers for all members of our family which was an extremely sweet and warm gesture on the part of the team to make us feel welcome.
The service provided by the hotel staff was exceptional. They were attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Their hospitality truly made us feel like royalty. A special mention to Assistant Restaurant Manager - Sumit and his team, who were phenomenal. They catered to our every culinary whim, accommodating personal preferences and dietary needs with ease. Rahul from the restaurant ensured that all our food was served piping hot with a smile.
The wellness and recreational facilities at the resort were top-notch. We enjoyed the spa services and the recreational activities available for kids. I would like to mention Avantika for her personal session.
The Property Manager Ms. Devidyuti Ghosh has done an excellent job of personalising service for the guests. The hospitality is amazing and hands down boasts of the most respectful and loving staff. we didn’t want to leave the hotel. The staff felt like family. Any request we had was granted within minutes. Our experience were enhanced by the smiles, special treatment and sincere care of Aditya, Kamlesh & Chinnappa. They were solid pillars always ready to help.
In conclusion, our stay at the Mulberry Shades, Bangalore was a memorable one. It's a perfect place for families looking for a luxury retreat with a personal touch. We left with beautiful memories and a promise to return soon. Highly...
Read moreI recently stayed at Mulberry Shades Resort with my wife and 1-year-old baby, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. I feel compelled to share our disappointing encounter in the hope that it could help others make an informed decision when considering this property.
From the moment we arrived, we encountered issues that marred our stay. The service at the resort left much to be desired, resembling more of a nightmare than a relaxing getaway. Our first encounter with the restaurant set the tone for the rest of our stay. After checking in, we were left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time before even being offered a table. The tables themselves were noticeably unclean, and the food we were served lacked both presentation and taste, with portion sizes that were barely noticeable. This initial disappointment was further compounded by the fact that we had requested a floor bed during check-in, which took a staggering four follow-ups to be provided.
Hoping to improve our experience, we approached the front desk to share our concerns. While the staff apologized and promised to fix things, it did not happen. We had ordered dinner into our room and the naan was cold, phulkas were missing. By the time they got us Fresh Naans and phulkas, everything else was cold and got tired of following up, and adjusted to whatever was there. It was disheartening to see the quality of service deteriorate despite our feedback.
Furthermore, the room had only a few small water bottles, which were woefully insufficient for our needs. Multiple follow-ups to acquire additional water were met with inaction and neglect. Hours went by without any sign of resolution. Frustrated, I had to personally visit the restaurant to obtain the water we so desperately needed. Even then, the promise of more water being sent to our room remained unfulfilled until our departure.
Considering the disappointing experience we endured, it is difficult to comprehend the exorbitant price we paid for this stay. The substandard service we encountered throughout our time at Mulberry Shades Resort does not align with the reputation I have come to expect from Marriott properties. As a Bonvoy member who has had positive experiences at numerous Marriott establishments, I find it perplexing that this resort carries the Marriott name.
In conclusion, our stay at Mulberry Shades Resort was an absolute nightmare. The service, cleanliness, and overall experience fell far short of what one would expect from a Marriott property. I sincerely hope that the management takes note of these issues and takes meaningful steps to address them, ensuring that future guests do not have to endure the same disappointing encounter...
