Read moreLocated very close to Sanapur lake and surrounded by paddy fields, Rambo homestay is an otion for those looking for a calm and peaceful stay option which also exudes a sense of homeliness. Even on a very hot and sunny day, the premises are very cool and at times windy thanks to the shades provided by the trees on the plot.
The dormitory is apt for solo backpackers and even for young travellers. The beds are all equipped with mosquito nets and are very comfortable. The property is managed by a family and a 12 year old boy who speaks very good English will surprise you with his hospitality skills.
They provide two wheelers for rent as well and there is restaurant services as well. Drinking water is however, something that's shortcoming,as is the case with most other properties in the vicinity. Only packaged drinking water is available. So bear that in mind. The junction nearby is just half a kilometre away and has a couple of small restaurants and other stores and bus services can be availed from here. All the stores here accept upi payments so thsts a plus point.
The paddy fields right infront of the property is a place to experience very beautiful and calm sunrise mornings. The slight foggy atmosphere with the boulder ridden hills on the background, with the constant and calming slush of the small streams, and the morning birds chirping..with no pollution of the urban areas most of us might be familiar with...This place proved to be a very right option for my three day stay there. On a moonlit night, you can walk a short distance to the nearby Sanapur lake and just experience all the weird and awe inspiring rock formations in the moonlight.
Definitely a great and clean place. Do consider it if you're planning to visit Hampi..the countryside part...
Read moreRambo homestay is amazing- we booked three nights (but ended up extending), turned up crazy early and our host greeted us with hot drinks and kind smiles. We loved our hut, it had a bathroom, beds and mosquito nets - simple but exactly what we needed. The host cooked us three dinners and one breakfast - and it was all amazing! Her manchurian, veg thali, and falafel were just perfect. The homestay used to be a lot bigger but unfortunately, like many other places in Hampi, was demolished a couple of years back. Even though it's a lot smaller there's a really beautiful atmosphere, with one communal table where we shared meals, coffee and stories with the host and other travellers. Rambo also has the possibility of renting a few scooters but unfortunately a guest who was also staying while we were there took advantage and caused a bit of a scene. Our host dealt with it super well, it's just sad seeing backpackers being unpleasant to kind, honest locals. We will 100% stay here if we ever come back to Hampi. Thanks again to you and your lovely sons who returned from school each day and always got involved helping out their mum with cooking, fetching ingredients and drinks from town and assisting in the billing and the maths of...
