Bluewaves Beach Residency Varkala — Hotel in Kerala

I loved it! First time in India and fell in love with it and this place! Inexpensive. Conveniently booked a room through Booking App with the option to pay on arrival. The hotel owner can also drive you from and to the airport. There was one more available room in the hotel when I arrived. I chose another room as opposed to the booked room and also the owner gave me a discount. The room was clean, comfortable and the main thing the room was quiet. It was important to me that it was quiet (I wanted to relax on vacation from work, and it worked). No noise in the vicinity. Free Wi-Fi. There is a possibility to order food and beverage. All meal is fresh and delicious. The owner of this hotel is very welcoming, friendly, kind and sincere! There is a terrace upstairs with billiards and other games. There is a kitchen where everyone can cook their own food for free. Nearby is a 3-4 minute walk to a chic beach with cafes and stores. For this money it's a great place! We are staying at Bluewaves at the moment and we’ve just booked some extra nights. The location is great; away from the touristic cliffside (although it’s only a 5 minutes walk to get there), close to a bar where you can buy beers for a local price, 3 minutes walk to the beach, a spacious room with a balcony and a shower with hot water!! The owner of the place goes out of his way to help, he even offered to drive us to the supermarket (athough it’s only a 5-minutes walk away) to get our groceries so we could cook a meal in the communal kitchen. Besides the helpfull owner and the great rooms Bluewaves has a beautiful rooftop area! Complete with a hammock and enough room to practise yoga or read a book. The view is amazing; overlooking the ocean it feels like you’re on an island (like the owner will tell you proudly). Good property, very near to the beach. Nice views if you have a balcony in your room. Beach is just walkable from the hotel, return can be like a trek due to the cliff. There is plenty of greenery in and around the hotel and is maintained well. Lets look at some pros and cons :
