My Stay at British County, Munnar – A Truly Memorable Experience (27th Jan to 29th Jan, 2025)
British County, Munnar is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in a long time! The breathtaking views alone make it worth every penny.
Room & Comfort I booked a Deluxe A/C room, which was spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. The room offered a fantastic view of the lush greenery and misty hills—a perfect sight to wake up to!
Key amenities included: ✅ Comfortable bedding ✅ Tea/coffee maker ✅ Mini-fridge ✅ Wardrobe & flat-screen TV
Bathroom The bathroom was spotless and well-equipped with shampoo, shower gel, soap, towels, and a hairdryer. The hot water supply was consistent, which was much needed after a long day of exploring Munnar.
Hotel Layout & Accessibility The Deluxe A/C rooms are located outside the main building. The reception, restaurant, and rooms are separated, requiring some stair climbing: ➡️ To reach the restaurant: A short walk ➡️ To reach reception: A bit farther ➡️ To reach the swimming pool: Several stairs down, making the climb back up tiring
⚠️ If you’re traveling with elderly family members or have mobility concerns, consider this before booking.
Restaurant & Food 🍽️ The in-house restaurant served delicious food with generous portions. Dinner was flavorful, and the breakfast spread was extensive with both South Indian and continental options. My favorite? The pancakes with maple syrup—absolutely heavenly!
💡 Tip: The restaurant balcony offers a magical dining experience with views of the hills and clouds!
Service & Hospitality The staff were exceptionally warm, polite, and always ready to assist. Service was quick, making our stay even more enjoyable.
Recreational Room & Swimming Pool 🎲 Recreational Room: Well-equipped with a treadmill, cycling machine, carrom board, chess, and more. Great for unwinding indoors! 🏊 Swimming Pool: Serene and refreshing, but accessing it requires going down multiple stairs—something to keep in mind.
Overall Experience:
British County, Munnar offers a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and hospitality. While the stair access can be a challenge for some, the stunning views, delicious food, and excellent service make up for it.
📍 Stayed from: 27th Jan to 29th Jan, 2025 ⭐ Would I recommend? Absolutely! I’d love to visit again.

Read more🤮 i had checked in with my family in room no. 201 at night. The toilet opened to a foul pungent smell. The guy had the same feeling and he turned on the exhaust n left. I too thought it wud be so coz the room wasn't occupied for sometime. I wasnt serious though. We dozed off as we were tired. However the next day morning we woke up to the smell all in the room and i found myself and my 5 yrs old daughter sick. We informed the reception and they told they wud assign us another room later after the checkout time. I accepted as we were planning to go out. However on the way of site seeing- me, my daughter and my wife felt so uncomfortable and dizzy that we had to go to the near by hospital and get admitted there for 3 hrs. The dr said it wasn't food poisoning (which i thought off). I explained him of the pungent smell in the room. He said it could be of some TOXIC gas that the drainage produced which made us sick. However with this we had to cancel our rest of the tour plan and get back home.
🤮The Guy at the reception (Sanvik or so) probably had a back injury or so( i presume), didnt even know that he had to stand and greet the guests during check in or at any time i met him. He was very comfortably sitting with his back rested on the chair and was talking to us as if the rooms were given to us on charity.
NB: it was same to other guests too
😀All the remaining staffs were gud, helpful and polite, was ready to help on time. Kiran , Abdul aziz etc
😩They didnt have an operational restaurant, so the breakfast was just OK, they got it frm elsewhere i guess. Am sure they will manage it once the restaurant is gud to work.
😃i am giving them 2 stars only for the following. ⭐️The rooms were nice and spacious, with all needed facilities. And a beautiful valley view

Read moreAwesome experience. I stayed for two days. Rooms and things are very neat and clean. By the time I was back after first day it was kept as neat as I check in. Staffs are very friendly. GM Mr Baby is such a nice man. I visited with family on may 23 first week. We are happy and enjoyed the stay.
Morning we had a buffet breakfast with idly, idiyappam, bread, egg fruits juice coffee tea. Their restaurant will be opened soon. Food is good.
I took executive with balcony. The view was such an amazing. All over the room it is designed in such a way that we can enjoy the nature very well. There is no other activities here, like playing area or walking area or such things.
Its in munnar bypass. Around 13km behind munnar. So when coming back from say vattavada which is in an end, it is a long drive. As I love driving we had no issues. There was heavy traffic in munnar so journey was long. But got nice rest in room.
Parking space could be better. This is in a steep road, so little tricky to park. But they will help if you need reception is always available.
Room is having an android tv, ac, ble fan, kettle, fridge, all toiletries.
I had checkout mng 7am as I was going to see some places. But on the way we had a medical issue and called back to ask if we can come back and have room some more time. Though we dnt go back, they called us back without any issues. Thanks for that team.
If location is good for your plan don’t think twice go and enjoy.
Added balcony view. Balcony is well safe for kids. Grills are well constructed so that we can freely keep kids safe there. And we have a table and chairs in balcony...
