Positive: view to the lake and service provided by some of the restaurant staffs.

Negatives: If I have an option I prefer to give zero star for this hotel. I am currently staying in this hotel and writing this review from room number 2201. I am here for one night with my family and in this time period they had power failure 6 times. This hotel doesn't provide you with packed mineral water in the room instead of that they left an old water dispenser (pay for water if you want), no shampoo and conditioner and also no tooth brush, paste and shaving kits, tissues. They don't provide enough bath towels and please don't expect bath robes because I can't find any in my room. Room quality is pathetic. If I move the curtain of the back side of my room I can see lots of rubbish. Also the wardrobe is an old one and they don't provide any ironing table and iron box. Yesterday (10/04/2024) I went to swim with my family and the pool was loaded with chlorine. After sometime my daughter started complaining about burning sensation in her eyes and I too started getting dry hands and itchiness all over my body (my self and my family go for swimming every week and we know how a good pool should be). Most pathetic thing is you can't go for a good shower after swimming because they don't provide shampoo or any other amenities in your bathroom. I was not offered with a towel after my swim, the man there was very busy with chit chatting with some of the guests and after sometime he vanished. In my room there is a scenery picture next to the bed, which was full of mould and the frame glass was broken. The AC is way too old and full of stains. I also need to be very careful with the curtains, because that may fall at anytime. No dressing table or mirror in the room, if I want to get ready I need to use the bathroom mirror. They got one mini bar in the room, I opened that to find some snacks for my daughter, but it was all empty. I called the reception people and they sai they don't provide supplies for the mini bar (hope I need to bring everything from home). Now let me explain about their restaurant. I went for tea and asked for some Kerala snack, the waiter told me they got onion bhaji, but what I got is onion pakoda and the explanation provided was they serve only north indian snack ( I am in Kerala but I should not expect any Kerala dishes..wow). During dinner time the quality of the food was just average. Some staffs are good and some not bothered if you ask for a glass of water also. Restaurant got lot of flies and some of the items in the restaurant were rusty (I saw the empty ice cream tub in the morning which they used for dinner and it was so dirty). One of their staff was so curious about IPL and he was blocking my view to the screen and enjoying his own work time watching cricket. I don't know how is club Mahindra Ashtamudi is considered as a 5 star sector. It don't have the standard of a 3 star hotel. Also about the reviews people talking about pleasant stay, I think that those are paid reviews. I won't recommend this bloody hotel to anyone. If anyone got a worst enemy then you can suggest this place😁 So overall guys if you really wish to book this place please consider packing drinking water, ironing table, iron box, snacks, shower kit, shaving kit, enough towels, tooth brush, tooth paste, bath rob and many more. Also request the front desk staff for check in otherwise no one will bother about you, even though you sit there for hours. Also mosquito bite that too you can enjoy during the stay. I have been to many 5 star sectors but haven't faced this kind of experience before. I will upload...

My first experience at Club Mahindra Ashtamudi was a nice experience to remember overall.

Here are some of those things that U may need to know before visiting so that you can come prepared and make the most of the visit.

First of all Ashtamudi is the best backwaters I have seen so far and this is one of the top class properties I have experienced here. If you are planning for a vacation Max of 2 nights will be sufficient. Anything more will be boring.

Positives: Rooms are clean, Spacious and well maintained. Room service does an excellent job for whats intended to them. The property is nice and located in the best views possible. The staff were courteous, took ownership and was concerned if the rules of the house were NOT followed. Which I felt was good practice. Some security when we lost track of a.inhouse amenity centre, walked along for a long time and helped us find it. The security was roaming around the property all day to take care even in the mid nights. Hats off to u for taking care of our safety.

Needs Improvement:

In the room the washrooms does NOT have any cloth hangers for hang dry or wet cloths or even the Towels.

Instead of giving packaged drinking water in a Milton jar they could serve some nice RO that tastes like mineral water or worst case bottles every day. The waster u served on miltons were pathetic.

The Property staff did not explain me the rules of the house and helped with the amenities in house. As a best practice suggest if you can brief the guest on all the facilities they have like the Gym, Play zone, Cycling, in house adventure games, Evening activities etc., so that guests can know and plan accordingly well ahead of time during their stay.

The food is very very very very costly. Period. Just coz we are on a holiday do Not expect us to take a loan to.buy food at ur property. The mgmt will need to revisit the prices even if it means to reduce the portion or spread. If you can't make it affordable you are still not gon a make it a top notch experience for ur clients.

The services are overly priced. Since they have already charged the members for the rooms sounds like they wanted to make more money from all the other services. Even a battery operated cycle ride costed INR300 for 30 mins inclusive of taxes.

The print out given also had even the reception number misprinted. Not sure what level of checks are done on other things if not the onboarding of new guests to the property in the right way.

Wifi is kinda broken and not enough signal strength is observed.

Some of the in-house entertainment's can be made free.

Where possible all guests can be taken for a resort tour on their battery cars before they check in for a better experience.

Your feedback form had.no space for mentioning most of there areas. Which kinda made me feel the mgmt is not even ready to look at what to improve. Time for a rethink and make the féedback questionarre a little more spacious to write our thoughts more.

Some advice to the people visiting here:

All things are priced atleast 5X or sometimes even 10X so if you are not ready to spend much make sure to find things on the maps well ahead of time. (Food, Travel, Boat service etc., ). I had some great food at cost effective prices and very friendly boat service provider who assisted in my trip if you need them please drop by in comments I shall share them across.

Happy...

Club Mahindra Ashtamudi: A Paradise of Floating Cottages, Delicious Food, and Unforgettable Experiences From February 1st to 4th, 2024, my family and I had the pleasure of staying at Club Mahindra Ashtamudi, and it was truly a remarkable experience. We didn't just stay in one type of room - we indulged in the unique offerings of the Floating Cottage, 1 Bedroom Unit, and Hotel Unit, each one providing a distinct perspective on this beautiful resort.

Floating Cottage: Waking Up in Heaven

Imagine waking up to the gentle rocking of the backwaters, the sun rising over the serene waters, and a cool breeze carrying the scent of nature. That's what our stay in the Floating Cottage was like. It was more than just a room; it was an experience in harmony with the surrounding nature. Sipping coffee on the balcony while watching the sunrise was a moment etched in our memory forever.

1 Bedroom Unit: Family Fun by the Pool

While the Floating Cottage offered serenity, the 1 Bedroom Unit provided a different kind of joy. Its proximity to the swimming pool made it the perfect base for our family's aquatic adventures. Mr. Unni, the ever-so-helpful care taker, ensured the pool was immaculate and provided valuable guidance for swim sessions. The cleanliness here was truly of international standards.

Hotel Unit: Budget-Friendly Luxury with a Nature View

Who says budget-friendly accommodation can't be special? At Club Mahindra Ashtamudi, even the Hotel Units are situated close to the water, offering a stunning view that rivals many pricier options. It served as a cherry on top for those seeking a nature-immersed experience without breaking the bank.

Beyond the Rooms: Personalized Service and Memorable Activities

The warm hospitality of the staff truly elevated our stay. Mr. Tejsingh from the Travel Desk was instrumental in organizing our unforgettable excursion to Jatayu - his car and driver recommendations (Mr. Sudish) ensured our safety and comfort. He also arranged a mesmerizing two-hour boat ride through the backwaters, where we witnessed local artisans crafting beautiful coconut leaf art and enjoyed enchanting music and dance on our return.

Special Recommendations:

For a luxurious nature experience, the Floating Cottage is unmatched. For family fun near the pool, the 1 Bedroom Unit is ideal. For budget-friendly comfort with a stunning view, the Hotel Unit is a great choice. Don't miss the incredible activities organized by the Travel Desk, especially the Jatayu trip and the backwaters boat ride. A Memorable Stay for Families and Nature Lovers

Although our stay was only four days, it was packed with memorable experiences. The delicious food, impeccable service, and diverse room options cater to families and nature lovers alike. We are already planning our next visit to Club Mahindra Ashtamudi, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and unforgettable getaway.

Special Thanks:

Mr. Unni (Swimming Area Care Taker) for his attentiveness and maintaining the pool impeccably. Mr. Tejsingh (Travel Desk Support) for arranging fantastic activities and prioritizing our safety. The reception staff for their warm welcome and assistance. Thank you, Club Mahindra, for creating such a special space close to nature. We look forward to...
