Okay…. On the first glance, the property is beautiful, the location and the set up makes you feel like this experience is going to be out of the world but the more you stare, you start to realize you’re going to be up for disappointment
The rooms are okay but the bathroom is ancient, it has to be maintained, no doubt the entire place is very very clean and I assume it is run on solar energy
We were greeted by the front office staff, trust me when I say this only the welcome from the FOH staff was welcoming. Once we checked in, a lady from the front desk escorted us to our room, she didn’t say a word, not one word and it was already raining heavily they didn’t have enough umbrellas to walk us to our room so we just went through the rain anyway. We then asked for a few umbrellas so that we can go around the property and let me tell you we just checked out and still haven’t received the umbrellas.
The pool is clean and the pool guy is very attentive so that’s the first positive point I give them.
The dinner…..😓😓😓😓 The dinner was average last night. The service was very very slow, actually add another very to the sentence and that would be fair. It took 25 mins for us to get water, after asking them twice let me add.
While heading to the room, we noticed someone snapping the Front desk guy who wasn’t bothered a bit and ended up giving him candid shots, that was hilarious.
My father ordered for tea and he was very specific he said he wanted “hot, milk tea with sugar” priced at Rs.110/- and he received lukewarm milk with I swear 4 drops of tea😂 I am not even exaggerating it was as if they brought it from the buffet spread. We reordered it after telling them what a big mess this is and then they sent us hot tea finally and this time it looked like tea.
The Breakfast was truly amazing, all the disappointment with dinner quickly resolved as the morning staff was very attentive you’d see the chef walking around paying attention to the buffet spread. The clearance was quick too.
The highlight of our stay was SAJI, the security guy. He alone is more accommodating than the entire hotel staff is. Such a sweet man, so easy to talk to and since we don’t know the local language he was quick to guide us around in Hindi and was very very kind. He told us about this nice local restaurant around the hotel plaza and his recommendation was great too.
In conclusion, management if you’re reading this ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ is the slogan to our Indian hospitality, retrain your staff on talking to guests, they are present there just for the sake of it, the property and the concept of indulging in nature is beautiful, I’d hate for this to be anyone...
Read moreVisited this resort after more than a decade. I did not like it then and i did not like now.... zero customer care and invisible management.|We were there for one night to attend a wedding next door at the Ramaverma Club. Fortunately, the room was clean. |We were told to follow the bell boy who carried our bags to check in to our rooms. We along with the bell boy arrived below a staircase, and none of us knew which room was allocated and the whereabouts of the keys. We spent twenty minutes in the sultry heat outside, and it was sorted out only because of the involvement of Ms. Lea (Hope I got the name right). |The pillow covers were pathetic, - aged and shrunk and gnarled. It was just one night so we managed. |We had to get some clothes ironed for the evening wedding. Sent it out with specific instructions to get them all on hangers and not to fold. The saree especially we wanted the crease to be removed. I was promised that they would return it in an hour. Four hours and seven phone calls and a bit of raising your voice.. and we got it back, ironed pressed and not on hangers. Sent it back again with somebody responsible at the reception, and it came back the way we wanted after nearly five hours. |Walked over to the restaurant for lunch. Placed some orders for some Chinese cuisine. Trying to explain to the waiter that I was extremely allergic to shrimps. After nearly fifteen minutes of elaborating on it, the waiter gave up and he did not understand. Someone else came over who said he was the captain of the restaurant.. He understood. That is as big an exercise just getting some food organized. Less said about the food the better. |It is nice big property right on the lake side. Nothing has changed vis-a-vis service. It was bad more than a decade ago, and it is bad now. There is no visibility of a Manager who i could talk to. I was told the Manager has gone out. I insisted on meeting the person next day when I was checking out.. and the person was not there then too. With no active management, and the manager missing from the resort for nearly 24 hours, what do you expect. |That is it.. there are a lots of resorts in the area to try out. We dont have to be pushed to a corner to compromise by staying here. |The only saving grace is a lady by the name of Neha Roy and Ms. Lea. Neha proactively tries to do things professionally. But given the crowd of staff who are dumb and non motivated, even Neha can do nothing. I wish they give more powers to these two ladies so that they can make the place a better...

Initially we planed to book lake palace resort, alleppey, but it was booked on that day, so we booked lakesong resort, kumarakom, and we were happy that we booked it.
Hospitality : 10/10 (No scope of improvement), Ms.Livya was very good, greeted us so well from checkin to checkout, we just ignored cons of the resort due to her hospitality.
On arrival, they will greet you with lime water, which is very tasty. Perfect combination of lime and sugar. 10/10 for that as well. :)
Food : 7/10. We had buffet breakfast included, for dinner we ordered from alacarte menu. It was good. They can make breakfast more lavish.
Room : 7/10 (We booked asthamudi room (second highest category)but they upgraded our room to vembanadu, which was highest category. Both rooms are same, vembanadu has balcony sitting extra, asthamudi on first floor, vembanadu on ground floor. Dont book basic category room, book either asthamudi or vembanadu.
Mosquito problem is there in kumarakom, so ask for allout or apply odomos before sleep.
They didnt have bathtub or jacuzzi in any of the room, considering vembanadu superior most room, i didnt feel it like suite room, though it wont matter much as you have many other things inside resort outside the room, and their hospitality is also good, so we ignored that thing, if they would have luxurious/more spacious rooms and jacuzzi/bathtub as well, i would have given 5/5.
Toiletries : 10/10 (Nothing we had to ask, provided everything including dental kit, shaving kit, bathroom slippers etc)
Activities : Cycling, Canoeing (2 different boats) inside the resort. It was awesome experience. I booked mainly due to view inside the resort and canoe inside the resort and it was worth. One hour complimentry backwater cruise 5-6pm, which was also good. We didnt try spa, but it must be good as well.
Price : 8/10. I dont feel i would have got better resort and rooms in same price at lakesong.
View : 10/10 Backwater and canal inside.quite natural place..
Once again, i would like to thank Ms.Livya for her gr8 hospitality, and i wish all resorts have such cheerful...
