Lal Rachan Resort Athirappilly — Hotel in Kerala

Recently we took a mini vacation to Athirappilly close to Kochi and the place we chose to stay was Lal Rachan's, primarily because it allowed our pet dog to be taken and secondly it was by the bank of streams flowing from the Athirappily waterfalls which can be seen in the distance. It was so relaxing, soothing and calm to lie in the rocky waters without any fear and with our doggie too enjoying the openness and a stream which she was seeing for the first time. Our stay is still memorable to us because of the hospitality of the owner Rubin. We forgot an expensive charger and realized that only on reaching Kochi. Rubin was very kind to arrange it to be sent through courier but sensing our urgency he drove all the way to Angamali where we met him half way and he gave it to us. Thank you Rubin. We blocked 5 rooms on jun15, 2019 for families. Two rooms no locks inside, we have to keep table and close the door. Windows we cant close completely.. location near river so good but rooms are very worst so try other good hotels near by. Food is very worst dont order, outside hotels is cheap and good. They serve old foods at very high cost.. They told complimentary breakfast and chargerd 880 for 12 dosa 6 puttu. And seperate 300 for water.. Over all worst experience. We had a nice stay at this homestay with a direct view of Athirapally Waterfalls. It’s a great place for bachelors or small groups.

The rooms are small but very clean and can fit three people easily. The owner and his mother were very friendly and made us feel at home.

If you're lucky, you might even see elephants passing by the area! There’s also a big hut outside for small parties or dining, surrounded by nature.
