Riverok Villas — Hotel in Kerala

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this resort Riverok Villa, and I must say it was an exceptional experience that exceeded all my expectations.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the resort is its breathtaking panoramic view of the river and surrounding mountains. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the resort offers direct access to a serene river beach, perfectly blending natural beauty with a peaceful ambiance. This exclusive access to the beach area added a unique and relaxing dimension to our stay, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the environment.

The resort itself is beautifully maintained, offering a seamless combination of comfort and nature. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. The facilities were top-notch, catering to both relaxation and recreational activities, which enhanced the overall experience.

A special mention must go to the resort manager, Hafiz, who was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. His warm hospitality and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident throughout our stay. Hafiz ensured that all our needs were met promptly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every moment. His personalized approach and attention to detail truly made our visit memorable.

This property is a 15 minute walk from the entrance to the Athirapilly Waterfall. ||||To reach it, we took a bus from Chalakudy private bus stand and got down at Kannankuzhy bus stop, Athirapilly. From the main road, Riverok is a short walk down towards the river. ||||When we went, due to torrential rails, the river was in spate and the police had issued a warning NOT to enter the river. However, Riverok has a private entrance to the river. ||||Riverok has villas (AC and non-AC) facing the river. Obviously the one in the front has the best view!!! ||Besides these, they also have Double rooms and a dormitory.||||Affects of monsoon: Yes the room was damp and musty. Outer cover of the bed linen was damp and a pillow cover was mouldy. But what can one expect in the coastal monsoon??? Our wet clothes refused to dry. ||||BUT, the staff was very polite and friendly. The food (room service) was very tasty. There is the constant subdued roar of the river which had a calming effect. We liked the sit-out in the villa with the two easy-chairs and spent the evening there.||||The room had continuous hot water in the Geyser. Bathroom was very clean and all fittings were functional. Review: Riveroak Villas

The location of Riveroak Villas is truly beautiful — right beside the river, with a lovely design that allows guests to enjoy the natural stream nearby. It’s a peaceful and scenic place, perfect for spending quality time by the water.

However, the overall stay experience was not up to the mark. The room condition was just average, and surprisingly, there wasn’t a single dressing mirror provided inside the room. The pillows were in poor condition and not maintained properly. Essential amenities like a stirrer for coffee, extra water bottles, etc., were missing.

The biggest drawback was the staff. They were unresponsive — we had to make multiple calls before our booking was even confirmed, and upon arrival, we faced a one-hour delay at check-in with the excuse of room cleaning. Throughout the stay, the staff did not bother to check on guests or ensure comfort.

With such a beautiful riverside location, this property has great potential, but the lack of proper maintenance and poor staff responsiveness really take away from the experience.
