A Slice of Heaven at Marine Pride Beach Resort, Varkala 🌊🌴
My stay at Marine Pride Beach Resort, Varkala (Kerala) was an unforgettable experience — a perfect blend of nature’s magic, comfort, and warm hospitality.
Perched right on the majestic cliff, this resort offers an unmatched view of the Arabian Sea. Every 2 minutes, you witness the waves splashing against the rocks below — it’s like watching nature perform live. And the soothing song of the sea echoes through every corner of the property, creating a calming, meditative vibe throughout.
The room was huge, the bed was super comfortable, and the washroom sparkled with cleanliness. But the real charm? The sea view from my bed — it honestly felt like I was floating on the ocean. That surreal, that close!
The balcony outside my room was the highlight of the entire trip — spacious, breezy, and offering a 360-degree panoramic sea view. I spent hours sitting there, soaking in the breeze, sipping tea, and watching the waves roll in.
The resort also has beautiful little huts and cozy sit-outs right at the cliff’s edge, where you can relax, eat, or just lose yourself watching the sea. Add a cool sea breeze, and it feels like time just slows down.
There’s also a small, private beach adjacent to the property, which felt like discovering a secret gem. The colorful stairs leading down to it are so vibrant and charming, they’ll win your heart instantly. And as you reach the bottom, you’re welcomed by the tranquil, turquoise-blue waters of the Arabian Sea — it’s nothing short of a fairy tale moment.
Coming to the hospitality — I was floored. It felt like the staff was on a mission to pamper us. They were quick, polite, and eager to fulfill every request. The chef deserves a special mention — I had a seafood allergy, and they ensured my meals were cooked separately with extra care. The food was not only safe but also incredibly delicious.
A big thanks to Mr. Mujeeb, the property manager, who was kind, courteous, and highly professional. He arranged transportation, helped us find the best Kerala massage, and even allowed a professional photographer inside the property so I could shoot my Instagram reel — a gesture very few properties allow.
This place is a true value for money, and a must-visit for every Varkala traveler. Whether you’re looking for romance, relaxation, photography spots, or soul-soothing sea views — Marine Pride Beach Resort has it all.
I’m not just recommending it — this is now my forever...
Read moreIt's one of the worst restaurants in the whole of kerala. Don't go, you will regret it. I asked owner of my homestay, and he told me about this place. Otherwise I would have totally ignored this place considering this place has horrible reviews.
I will share my experience, there are more staff members than people sitting in the restaurant. Everyone is shouting, angry staff. They don't have any etiquettes, they treat Indian tourists like sh*t considering they will not come again.
Going to list the instances now. When I entered the place, there was no one to attend, waited for a few mins and then I had to ask. After placing the order, I switched the place as the chairs were uncomfortable for me. There was one waiter who literally needs to go to school first to learn a few basic things. He said, you can't change the place, this is a big table. What if more people come, this affects my business. Firstly we were sitting on a 5 chair round table, we switched to a 5 person rectangle bench.I couldn't understand how switching was so going to affect the business. Poor in basic mathematics. In the second instance, there was no soap. I asked for soap to the person who is at the cash counter probably the owner. He said, I don't know, and then I asked a waiter who finally helped me with it.
Third instance, we ordered two Sadhyas (Kerala traditional meals). They served it over half a banana leaf that was over a plate unlike traditional meals which are served on just a big banana leaf. We asked for one papaddam, the same guy who said it's affecting my business said you won't get extra papad in the whole world. Although he changed his sentence later to Varkala when I told him that I had eaten the same meal a few days back in Trivandrum. The purpose of the meal is to take refills as much as you want but some places don't allow sharing and we were not sharing. After this rude behavior, I said we don't want. He replied - 'denge bhi nahi'. After a few mins another guy came with papad and apologized but seems like the other guy is running the place very badly and needs to visit school. If you go to this place you will find this guy shouting. The guy sitting on cash table is sort of puppet. Don't know what role he is playing..
Avoid visiting this place, I wasted my Rs. 360 on a...
Read moreI am sharing my experience here. If you are planning for an event or a vacation, please do think about it a hundred times. The resort management do not stand on their words.I paid 1 Lakh ruppees and booked 8 rooms and the entire property for an event They literally spoiled my event without giving any of the services that were offered at the time of booking. They offered us parking space and power supply, but at the last moment they denied everything saying the generator is not in working condition, parking space cannot be cleaned up as construction is going on and they are dumping all the debris in the parking lot. I had to have a verbal fight with them to have the parking space cleaned up just a few hours before the event started. The staff even abused my guests for bringing the vehicles near the so called parking space. The guy in the reception threatened us to leave the property by calling the local goons when we asked questions about their misbehaviour and non-cooperation.
Below are the very few incidents happened during my stay at this property.
There is no power back up here. If power goes, you have to sit in dark until the power is restored. There is no parking space, you will have to park your vehicle on the road and get abused by the locals and resort staff themselves for parking it on the road. 3.They didn't give us the breakfast saying the chef is on leave and we had to travel 6 kms looking for a restaurant. They knocked at the doors at 12 in the midnight to check who is staying in the rooms I booked. You won't believe, the staff have no clue on how many rooms are occupied and how many are not. The rooms were not serviced even once during my stay for 2 days.
The location is really good, but they have no clue on how to run a resort. I am very sad to say this but, highway lodges function better than this. The staff behaviour is so much worrying and not sure how they can abuse and threaten the guests. So much disappointed with the staff and the service. We are still not over the trauma given by the receptionist and rest...
