Over the years, I have stayed across multiple resorts near Khatia Gate, and Pugmark definitely keeps on calling me back. The resort sure gives you the feel of calm, quiet, peaceful life around the jungle, some delicious village food, and relaxing campus, but the clincher for me is the personal attention that Noorul and Rahul offer, catering to every need of the guests in the best possible way. E.g. Once my 2 year old daughter wanted a banana to eat. We went to the kitchen to ask if they had and unfortunately they didn't have any at that time. But within a short while, one of the staff members came to our room to give not only bananas, but some other fruits as well! So someone went to the market to get fruits since our child wanted some! It's gestures like these which win hearts. If you are looking for a luxurious, high-end hotel, then this isn't for you. But if you value family-like treatment, then this is one of the best mid-budget hotels that you might find around Khatia Gate. The hotel also has their own gypsy and Noorul/Rahul can also take you on a safari. Both of them are highly passionate about the jungle and wildlife. We had a wonderful experience staying at Pugmark Resort, a perfect budget-friendly option for anyone visiting Kanha National Park. The biggest plus point is its proximity to the safari gate—just a short drive away, which made our early morning safari starts super easy and stress-free.

The rooms were simple yet clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the basics we needed. The property has a peaceful, nature-filled vibe, surrounded by greenery, and you can often hear birds calling in the morning—which adds to the charm.

What stood out the most was the hospitality. The staff were polite, attentive, and genuinely cared about our comfort. They made sure we had packed breakfasts ready before each morning drive. Food was homely and freshly prepared. Don't expect a fancy buffet, but the taste and warmth of the meals more than made up for it.
