Hotel Om Shanti Palace — Hotel in Kolkata

I checked in there as a foreign tourist on 23rd December for 3 days and paid in advance. On 2nd day they asked me 800 rupee extra for 25th December stating that it’s a rush day and must have to pay this amount. I wanted to be cleared of their logic for the extra payment. They said it’s rush day and this time you won't get any hotel, so you have to pay this for this day. Even their owner responded to the call and behaved roughly. Then decided to checkout on that day but they mocked like - 'You won't get any hotel opened for you Syaar'. But I did. Worst experienced ever at this India tour. Even I said, you can't ruin your country’s image to foreigners like behaving this way. But they were responding like unprofessional lunatics. Their room was dirty, their hand-shower was broken so they didn’t fix it up. I had a great tour in India but I can't erase this negative experience that I got from them. I think govt and OYO itself has a lot of lacking to handle their services that's why they could behave like this.

Worst. The food service is tremendously upsetting. We have booked an AC room for 24hr but most of the time the current was off. The boy who was carrying our luggage was so irresponsible. Don't waste your money by going here. Such a horrific hotel it is. There's no restaurant nearby except one sha-e-awad. We have ordered dinner and lunch but it took them 3 hours after we had placed our order to reach us. So upsetting. Food service is only available from 12pm-9pm. The management...

Hotel management attitude is quite hostile. Could be owing to personal reasons they have with Oyo. Being an avid traveller, there is a general warmth and hospitality that I have experienced and grown to expect from hotel staff, which is absolutely absent here. The front desk staff is judgemental n rude to a point that you in fact find it quite harassing. Had to check in here due to an emergency, but Would not recommend AT ALL, especially if you're checking...
