Monovilla Inn — Hotel in Kolkata

I’d give it zero stars if I could. I had an awful experience booking this substandard hotel through Agoda. I reserved a room for four nights from December 14–18, 2024, but when my flight landed at 12:30 AM and I arrived at the hotel around 3:30 AM, the check-in staff refused to honor my confirmed voucher. Despite my desperate pleas in the middle of the night, the staff insisted there was no booking, claimed no rooms were available, and demanded I leave immediately. To make matters worse, Agoda provided no emergency contact number for assistance. There I was at 3:30 AM, stranded on the street with my luggage and surrounded by stray dogs. The hotel does not outshine any other hotels with its decor or any special service. It is just that you will get probably the cheapest place in a quite centrally located area. From here you can take UBER or tuktuks to go to the markets and esplandes.||||The rooms had a fan & an AC, everything was clean and the staff was quite friendly. Wifi was also no problem and you are allowed to order delivery food to the Hotel. Don't go there by the review from lonely planet. That's what I learned. The beds were so dirty that I did not use their blanket. The bathroomsink was filled with pan spit of it's own manager who occupied the room before we checked late night as I learned. I called them to unclog and clean it.
