Time of Visit: June 2018 Location: Fort Road, 15-20 Min walk from Leh Main Market If you love nature, I'm pretty much confident that you will love this place. As the name goes, this property has lots of poplar trees. Poplar trees can grow to long heights. The property is set in a great location, it has lots of varieties of plants and flowers especially apricot trees. You can spend endless days admiring them. ( unfortunately during this time, there were no apricots). The manager told us that the owner of the property allows guests to pluck the apricots. The rooms are buit like cottages, with each cottage having 2 rooms. The rooms are not that spacious, but suffucient enough with central heating system. The cottages are built around the entire property. There are pathways that take you to your rooms. There are around 20 cottages (40 Rooms) at the property. There are seating areas spread out across the property to relax and enjoy your stay. The reception and Dining Hall are at the entrance of the property. The dining hall is beautifully built with great interiors. One can feel calm and enjoy the food here. The quality of food is good and it is something that most of the guest appreciate here. Overall a Great Stay and a Recommended Property ! P.S: For all those people searching for Wifi in my review, yes Wifi works well here, although you will have to come to the reception area...
Read moreThe Eco Poplar Resort has got a huge vegetable garden where the cook also gets his ingredients for cooking. The food is excellent, mostly better than in the restaurants in the city centre. For breakfast there is always porridge, fresh seasonal fruit, eggs and veggies, muesli etc. The hummus was grand.
The rooms are okay. The water takes a while to get heated, so wait for about 5-10 minutes. From time to time some insects find their way to the room, due to the huge garden and the big apple and apricot trees. The carpets could be get rid of. They are just dust catchers. The service was extra ordinary.
WIFI works in the dining hall and the reception area, but not in the rooms. In the garden you can find many sitting areas. To the Leh market it is a 20 minutes walk, which is fine. There is a library in the reception area where you can borrow books for reading. As a whole we had a great stay in the Eco Poplar Resort. Thank...
Read moreAs far as I can remember, there is a fairy tale in which a person can read others mind and always tries to make those wishes come true.|I have no idea how this tale ends, but we had a similar event here in Leh.|You just arrived in front of the gate and your luggage is already at your room.|You think of a second cup of coffe with your breakfast. Well, you havn't finished the thought and the smell of a freshly brewed cup is tickling your nose.|Eco Poplar Resort for sure is no fairy tale but real.|So, I definitely can recommend its courteous, friendly and obliging staff, as well as all the individual parts of the entire complex. Starting from the dining room, through the beautiful garden (which is perhaps a little fairy tale in itself), to the hospitable, clean rooms.|And one thing is true: At the Eco Poplar Resort you could live happily ever after... if you...
