Hotel Olthang — Hotel in Ladakh Range

The Hotel Olthang in Diskit in the Nubra Valley was as good as ever in such a remote location. I wanted to write a review 3 years ago when I first stayed there. Narendra the hotel manager is such a lovely character, always helpful and funny. He really makes a difference. ||The new rooms are a little more pricey but it's worth it. Plus the season is very short as the only access is via the highest pass in the world.||The kitchen delivered some simple and tasty meals made mostly of local products. The guys will bring a bucket of hot water for your shower which felt so good after a day riding a bike from Leh via the famous Khardung La.||Considering what's involved in getting there I suspect most people wouldn't bother unless they have a keen interest in Gompas. Olthang, Best Place to stay at Nubra District, Village Disxit, Near Monastery and 2 km away the white sand desert. Olthang hotel is situated in nubra valley disket place awesome hotel u can find wifi facility also. One of the best hotels located in a beautiful location. The scenes from rooms & just outside the hotel are picturesque. Worth a stay. Provide rooms for accommodation & delicious food. Great service and good ambience, i loved the apple and apricot tree where in live i plugged and ate, also the service is the best in diskit. I stayed there for like 1 day and found this place amazing.... I totally love this property and their food..... Worth a stay.... Luxury in budget prices... Highly...

Lovely scenic place. Close to the diskit local market area. The care taker is very nice. Nice, quiet place. It's more like a guest house. The rooms can be a bit smelly/soggy. The toilets are old. Do carry toilet paper with you.

Carrying battery banks is a must in the valley though. Generally there's no electricity, they power on the generators after 7 PM. But there's no need of electricity with the weather and the views. Food is really great! They cook and serve lunch/breakfast when you require it. Dinner is a buffet.
