Luxury glamping experience with added warm touches
We had an amazing experience at TUTC's Chamba Camp Diskit, staying for 1 night in July 2025, though we wished to have stayed longer!
Accommodation: We stayed in the Luxury Suite tent, which was very comfortable. It had all the modern amenities you need - air conditioning, heating, power sockets, even WIFI, and it felt rustic and in nature, but still luxurious. Our view from our tent was stunning - looking directly at Diskit Monastery and the Maitreya Buddha statue with the Nubra Valley forming a beautiful backdrop. The location of the camp was only about 15min to the Hunder sand dunes.
Food: We had a good selection, including Western, Thai and Indian. The food was amazing and the chef carefully catered to our likes.
Service: This was where Chamba Camp Diskit truly shines and sets itself apart. The camp manager, Dorje, welcomed us warmly to the camp and made sure we were well taken care of. The other staff were great as well, including the chef, our butler and servers.
Experiences: Another outstanding aspect of our stay at Chamba Camp Diskit. My wife was celebrating her birthday on the night we stayed here, and so I requested a private dinner prior to arrival. We were impressed and pleasantly surprised with the beautiful gazebo they set up next to a crackling fire, with a great view of the mountains and starry skies. The food was great and Dorje and the staff made us feel special throughout. To end the meal, all the staff came out to wish my wife as they brought out a freshly baked cake. Finally, as we arrived back at the tent, we found it was richly decorated with balloons, flower petals and towel art - another lovely touch that we appreciated.
Special mention: Our itinerary had to be changed last minute, and Chamba Camp Diskit were flexible and accommodating. We were originally supposed to have arrived a day earlier to stay for 2 nights but ended up only staying a night. Everything was seamlessly taken care of between Chamba Camp Diskit and Chamba Camp Thiksey. I'm grateful for their assistance and care throughout this episode.
Overall, we had one of our best stays anywhere, and we would highly recommend Chamba Camp Diskit and...
Read moreThe most horrible experience of my life-
Date 25th September 2016- I am an adventurer and visiting Ladakh since 2010. After reading few good reviews I landed up at chamba camps Diksit on 25th September 2016 to see the property and book the place for my upcoming expeditions for 2017 but the guy at the gate refused my entry. I specifically told him that I am travelling from chandigarh and Want to see your premises but he refused .
I wonder what kind of hospitality these guys must be providing to their guests who does not have the basis curtsy to attand a lady on gate who visited them from 1000 odd Kms. They were absolutely Rude and full of attitude!!
I travel across the nation and stayed at most expansive and high end properties but I never experienced this RUDE behaviour ever in my life.
Just a small message to the management- Respect your Customers and people. It does not matter what hospitality you guys provide inside the premises it also matters how your staff deal with visitors!!!
I will definitely discourage my customers to visit this...
Read moreWe stayed three nights at Chamba Camp in two tents. When someone mentions a tent you don’t imagine the luxury that greeted us. Aircon, heaters, desks, beautifully appointed wardrobes and chests with a tea station and fridge. Very beautifully styled with all the amenities that we could have wanted. The personal service from the staff was incredible - only sad that a couple of us could not enjoy all the food offerings as we were struggling with altitude and delicate stomachs but the staff made sure we were really well looked after and all our needs catered for. We sat around fire pits at night, competed as a family in archery that is on site, sat drinking morning tea by a mirror lake reflecting the mountains, played chess and decompressed from the outside world. All our excursions were taken care of by the staff and we were welcomed back with refreshments and staff happy to help. A really fabulous experience and I hope more people will visit Chamba Camp for a slice of Nubra...
