They really do not value their walk in customer : said by manger of GOLVAN Manveel bagayatdar.|On 13th Nov. We were travelling to tarkarli all of sudden we found so many boards on d road of GOLVAN resort and they were eye catching so we had a call on the given num. A person called "sawant" he said will provide you another num. We called and confirmed about 2 rooms they said yes we have two rooms available as someone has cancelled the bookings. Then we decided to skip tarkarli and moved to this amazing sea facing resort @ 12.15 pm.|Receptionist Sheetal greeted us and told about rates and confirmed our booking then showed us room no 5 and 7 We were happy by cottage view by the time receptionist Sheetal asked us to wait as rooms were getting clean.|It was already 1pm so v decided to have lunch in their restaurant. After 45 mins (1.45 pm) service staff came and asks us for luggage. We told him we will finish our lunch and then will move. Exactly by 2.30 sheetal came and asked us to have a word with their Sales executive Aarti(liar) and she started giving us reason 1. Staircase is broken we said will still manage.|2. Ac is not working we said will manage with the fan.|3. toilet is improper . She gave us so many reasons but we still said that will manage because it was already late for us to move .later we came to know that she was just making up the things by giving us reasons. By the time I had personally went to check the room status and I was shocked to see that same room was allotted to other person the room no. 5 while v were having our lunch. Thus sales executive Aarti and receptionist Sheetal were trying to fool us by giving us senseless reasons. After wasting almost more then 3 hours. MANAGER: MANVEEL BAGAYATDAR came to us ask us to show the proof of booking. We said we have recorded phone calls and Mrs sheetal is here ask her. |But this impolite person ask us to get out of the resort and was very rude to us (room bhetnar nahi Kay kartil te Kara ani nigha ekdun) after 3hrs you just can't ask us to leave we had cancelled our booking of tarkarli we also asked for the number of the owner but they simply denied and said you do whatever you want . It was a horrible experience for us we had sit in the restaurant with our luggage in car and ruining our day.|Afterwards the mother of the owner came she accepted their mistake but was of no help . and she was like sorry I can allot you all 2 rooms only 1 room u all will get. We 4 were like ok we will adjust and the whole drama created by GOLVAN resort team come to an end with this solution @3.20 pm. Again @4 pm lady owner came to us and said rooms has no capacity of 4 adults so u need to manage something else. And we were like by 4pm where will go. We had to convince her that we don't have any other booking as we cancelled our booking and were couples so can't travel to mumbai as it was already 4 in the evening be we had to convince not the other way round.|After all this drama we got 1 room we four people adjusted in it . There is no proper management the approach and attitude they could have handled the situation in better and professional way. I belong to hospitality industry and this not how you treat your guest.|And there were cockroaches in the room|For proof I have photographs. |I am writing this that the owner of the property should know what's going on...
Read moreI used the directions provided by the map. And from that I have observed the following: This place is quite interior from the Main Road. This is not an issue but there is hardly any proper road connecting from the main road to this place. It is more of the "kacccha" road having width just to fit one car. Also, there are no street lights. This is a major problem at night. Further more, the last 200 mts or so is a complete mud uneven road where the map fails to show the direction. It is difficult to trace the direction to the Resort at night. Luckily, they have put ad boards and signs so be sure to note them. I would not advise this place if you are a solo woman or a small group of women. This is the biggest drawback I felt of this place. After reaching this place, it looks beautiful. Impressive lighting and the landscaping is perfect. The resort is stretched over a large area and there are many activities that you can indulge it. I could see that they also offer huts like living space near the shore. They looked great from outside. Parking space is available. There are two separate areas - bar area and normal hotel. We had taken the normal hotel area. It has a comfortable seating area with wooden table and chairs. The hotel area is constructed from wood/bamboo and the side walls are open. So it offers a good view. The menu offers a lot of variety - North Indian, Chinese and Kind of Konkan side. The availability of all the dishes will need to inquired. When we had visited they did not have tandoori dishes. We had ordered the following dishes Veg Crispy: My mother double questioned the waiter whether it was veg or not since she should not guess which vegetables they were. Taste was okay. Surmai Rawa fry: Very Thin but good spread piece but not tasty. I could feel more of the Rawa than the fish. It was not worth for 355. Prawns Biryani: Tasty and quantity served was good. The only dish from the three that we liked. Price would be on a steeper end considering the taste. Service was okay. Nothing bad Nothing good. Overall, Considering the road, view and all the other aspects I would say it was good for a one...

The location , view and overall open space and greenery is beautiful in this resort .
Main USP is direct access to beach and beach views.
The planning of cottages are but odd and they say all cottage having sea view which is wrong . Only first 201 202 and some 2 cottage in middle rows have straight sea view .
They have tried to locate cottages in staggered way and in contour type height but still back cottages have only 25 percent of sea view and 75 percentage view of front cottages and its toilets.
Such huge space available its a tragic example of how to waste the area . May be no proper Architectural services render at the time of development of property.
Also very poor planning inside the cottage area where no proper space for 2 adults . No side table no luggage racks and just some stools and corner tables given .
All the furniture is now in very old and shabby including sanitary ware and cp fixtures
Ac was good and backed up with generator that was plus point.
The restaurant is quite far but they give room service and food is not bad not great ok ok for malvani dish
Breakfast menu is also very limited but its good , like you get two dish plus choice of eggs and bread butter and banana tea coffee good enough
Food quality and resort quality is not justified as the price they charge.
Also breakfast always start after 9.30 am and no proper cleaning done of table and floor and left over lying of previous days dinner regular basis .
The resort have their own bar and they only serve only peg system and beers as per price of their own prices which are very high side.
They don’t allow outside drinks hence be aware of paying heavy price on alcohol
They didn’t even allow to keep champagne bottle to make chill in their restaurant as there is no fridge inside the cottage . Tv is also not there which is ok with me .
The service staff is like movie dumb and dumber they are very slow and often...
