Kamats Hotel — Restaurant in Maharashtra

I am sure younall know this chain of Restaurant is from same Owner who runs Mumbai's first 5 star eco-friendly Hotel Orchid. Mr Vitthal Kamath.

What is best about this specific outlet or same other outlets or same chain that food is amazingly tasty and you can feel the quality of it. Its pure veg and staff is very friendly. I am not talking about this perticular outlet but other outlets till now I visited I found them very friendly.

Another interesting this is, yes all dishes are very tasty but specialty of this Kamath's restaurants is 'Special Kamat's Vada'. Very delicious and crunchy and you can feel the difference of taste comparing to other ordinary Vada's with every bite of it. Very unique taste. They serve Vada plate with Curd, Red Chutney and one special gravy Chutney which again taste very unique. Over all I recommend you all to Try this dish at any Kamat's outlet and you will find the taste maintained very well throughout the chain.

In this perticular restaurant there is very humble, nice and 55+ year young Services Man Mr Shankar. Very friendly gentleman. Every visit of mine I hear interesting stories from him. Today finally I told him that I will write a review and post his picture too.

Whenever I have somework at Lonavala I make sure I leave my in mumbai early morning without breakfast since I always prefer to have delicious breakfast here.

One very bad thing about this outlet is. They do not accept UPI or Any Card Payment. So no Online or Digital Payment at all. I wonder why they think people will always have cash? ...

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with the experience my family and I had during our recent visit to Kamat Hotel. As customers of Kamats Hotel, we expected nothing short of excellence, but unfortunately, our visit turned out to be the complete opposite.

Firstly, I must address the behavior of your waiter, who displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and courtesy. It felt as though we were inconveniencing him by being there, as he took our orders with an air of indifference, treating us as if he was doing us a favor. This kind of service is simply unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of your esteemed brand.

Moreover, the quality of the food was far from satisfactory. The taste and presentation fell well below the standard we have come to expect from Kamats Hotel.

Adding to our disappointment, our orders were inexplicably delayed in the kitchen, leaving us waiting for an unnecessary amount of time. It was clear that the waiter was neglecting his duties by unnecessarily keeping the food in the kitchen for an extended period. This delay further dampened our dining experience and left us feeling frustrated and neglected.

Furthermore, I was astounded by the waiter’s lack of common sense when it came to a simple request for a empty glass of water. Despite the fact that he saw a one-year-old child with us, he still proceeded to ask for whom the glass was intended. Such a question is not only unnecessary but also reflects a lack of basic...

I have never stayed at Kamat. We always visit the restaurant, El Taj, whenever we visit Khandala or Lonavala. Since there is no mention of El Taj separately, I am writing my review here. ||||El Taj, as mentioned, was a planned stop for lunch on our way to Karla. The moment I drove thru the gate, the view was a shocker. The facade of the hotel had a ghost look to it and almost being broken down. We were disappointed thinking they have shut down. El Taj is a small extension on the left side of the main hotel. A man was waving at us to come over. He confirmed that the restaurant is open. But he avoided any queries on the state of the main building. ||||Very hesitantly we settled for lunch in the restaurant. It was around 1 pm and we were the only customers. The menu remains the same. We placed our orders. Once the food started flowing from the kitchen, all concerns vanished. ||||It was very tasty. The usual stuff we always had all the time. Considering, we were the only customers, we had full attention of the staff. It was almost past 2 pm by the time we left. We saw a few cars driving in and a couple of families coming in for lunch. ||||So, as usual we left very satisfied with our lunch. ||||5 people had a satisfied meal for Rs. 1600. ||||You must visit this place for one lunch/dinner just to taste what good food with reasonable price and no frills...
